xxxHOLiC Chapter 213 Discussion

Actually, I don't hate the ending as much as everyone else here. Granted, I don't think it's a great ending, but it's somehow rather fitting?



"When did 100 years go by?" Well, that's the mindscrew part of it, isn't it? As readers, we feel as lost in time as Watanuki.



Still, I agree that it felt very rushed and with too many loose ends left. Not exactly a proper conclusion for a such a lengthy series, so I am also hoping for an epilogue =/

Overall, i enjoyed this series. it may not be a happy ending and it may feel rushed especially the last chapter, still, i really loved it.  The dream was nice, :) the butterfly freed the bird. The meaning was really lovely. and Finally, even in dream, Watanuki was able to see her again.



Indeed, it left us a lot of questions but my main point there is Watanuki live up to His and Yuuko~san's wish, that is to continue living and waiting for Yuuko~san to come back even though he knows that she won't anymore.

Just finished reading the final chapter of xxxHOLiC and instead of feeling like I'm saying good-bye to an old friend, I want to go out and just sue somebody!!!! CLAMP, WTH was that all about???? You owe us an epilogue or something!!!

*running in circles and screaming hysterically*



On a lighter note, seeing Yuuko again was awesome!

you do not write a 200+ chapter story of any kind and end it like that. ok, so maybe he just goes on like that for ever, but that is not the way to end it.

I think CLAMP will make an epilogue chapter, like they did in Tsubasa (and If you'll check you'll see that before the epilogue chapter in Tsubasa nothing was understandable and the epilogue was the real ending and it was made supremely well)

and that epilogue will be the real and amazing ending of one of the best manga CLAMP have made-xxxHOLiC



That what I am totally expecting also.. at the end of Tsubasa, I was ranting and raving only to come to peace with the "extra" chapter that served as the real ending..I hope Clamp does the fans that well at least.. Though , maybe I totally missed it and it flew right over me.. but what is up with that DAMN EGG!!!

If they didn't have any ideas of how making Rou decently, they simple shouldn't have done it. Just that. 7/10.

The revelation that this was last chapter had me going, "Wait, what?!?!" Now, I guess it makes some weird sense after thinking about the last page. But, GAH! Now I have a slight headache from the news and mild depression. Seriously, that ending was NOT uplifting in the slightest for me. Watanuki. T_T *goes to read chapter 40 of Kimi ni Todoke*

I wonder what ever happened to Syaoran and the gang.. I hope they feature in Gate:7 sometime, I really do.

The ending was exactly what I expected: very ambiguous. However, I'm going to keep my rating for xxxHolic 8/10 since I try not to let bad endings affect my enjoyment of a manga/anime but it really fell off badly after Tsubasa ended and it became a monthly serialisation.
