His logic goes somewhat like this: "I lost everything, family, clan etc. I'm a man with nothing to lose and only such a man can change a system threw violence like i want to do and bare the hatred of the people for the way he acted to change the system and the death he brought. BUT there is one problem, there is still Naruto. As long as this guy exist then am not a man with nothing to lose. I still have a friend to care about and something to pull me to want to live happily instead of changing things and living in the darkness of the hatred of people for what i did to change things. I must get rid of him so i will have nothing pulling me to the desire to live inside the system and the happiness such thing could give me. I must become a man fully surrounded by darkness and nothing to lose."

been saying this but i'll be satisfy if either of the two dies..well Sasuke? lol it's kinda obvious if you ask me...Naruto is the prophecy child that'll bring peace.

There is another thing this chapter did.Sasuke is getting everyone to hate him because he wants to cut all his previous bonds and shoulder the hate himself.Thats why he wants Sakura to hate because he has feelings for her but he wants to snap the bonds and thats why he does it.I am hoping for SasuSaku once Sasuke is redeemed and he can feel those bonds again :)

sadly there is no slight romance in this series.

Even then things still go wrong. That's why i think the best way to solve this is to remove all chakra from everyone, but thinking about it, it's probably impossible now because chakra is so bound to humans that it became a part of their physiology. That's why people die when they lose too much chakra.

What I'm wondering now, is how is Sasuke so convinced he would survive cutting the one last bond he has and would somehow still be able to keep moving on?

Sure, he's very determined to kill Naruto, but he can't say for certain his sanity wouldl hold on after the deed was done.
