Uhm... I'm a new member. Been reading alot of the posts, never really actually posted any until now.

This chapter was actually kind of disappointing... We know that Sasuke and Naruto will fight, as that has been a huge base point in the plot from back when Sasuke left the village. But if you notice, Sasuke is actually following the same route as Madara.

Madara was a friend, then an enemy, then a friend again, then a enemy, and then erased.

Sasuke is 3/4's the way there.

I can't believe how suckered some people are into believing that he is "permanently" good again. No way anyone's gonna accept that after the crap he pulled.

I call bullshit, looks like he's gone the mashima route

Thank you for saying that, that's exactly what I thought!

I feel like more than to develop the story further, they showed us Madara and Hashirama's friendship so that they could develop Naruto and Sasuke in the same fashion.... Just my guess T__T

sfkjhgkljdfhgkljh and seriously Sasuke sucks (DUH ITACHI WANTED PEACE AND LUV DUUHHH) but I think it was cute how Orochimaru was like "I'll do whatever this guy does" ahahahaha he's too gay for him

Just because everyone knows what you want to say, doesn't mean you shouldn't say it anyways.

We all saw it coming even if we didn't want it to go like that. Sasuke's indecision on whether or not to take revenge lies on the question: Is Konoha worthy of Itachi's sacrifice?

That's where Hashirama and the Hokages come in, Hashirama (together with Madara) were the first ones to develop the concept of Hidden villages, the start of a world where every Shinobi must be ready to sacrifice everything for the village, where morals and principles are bent to the village's will.

Why do Shinobi exist? What is their purpose? What is the purpose of the village?

He learnt then that Shinobi endure all that pain so that others won't need to: Hashirama and Madara created Konoha so that children could grow being children, not warriors.

Tobirama had to change who he was to not be as soft as Hashirama, or as dangerous as Madara, to become the Hokage that Konoha needed.

Hiruzen sacrificed the Uchiha, because a civil war would've only ended in blood and hatred, it was the safest way.

Minato sealed the Kyuubi inside Naruto sacrificing himself and his son, to protect those who lived in the village and giving Naruto a fighting chance against Akatsuki.

Itachi chose to eliminate the Uchiha because he understood the purpose of the village, of shinobi, he left Sasuke alive because his love for him went beyond that of the village.

Sasuke wanted to know the reason behind all that sacrifice, why would anyone endure so much? He needed to understand before deciding. Sasuke is not a fool, he knows by now that making a decision without true understanding of the situation is stupid. He decided that the reason behind it all was worthy after all.

Basically, we knew this would've happened since we learned about the truth behind the Uchiha massacre.

I liked the chapter.

You disaapointed us all, Sasuke, Orochimaru, and KishiMasa.

Poor Suigetsu.

LOL@Karin&Orochimaru.

Well that escalated quickly.  Even though Sasuke is my favorite Naruto character I didn't expect him to become "good" so suddenly. With this turn of events I really can't predict what's gonna happen next.

But what I liked the most about this chapter was the revelation of the past Uchihas. It's hilarious to me that Kagami turned out to be good, while he was my primary candidate for Tobi, back in the time. And Shisui is his son? Bithchin'!

P.s. What about Orochimaru? Hmm...

Enjoyment wise this was a great chapter of Naruto for me but story wise it get's a bad+ because I would have rather preffered Sasuke being the "bad guy" as he was rather than this seemingly "oh so that's how it was okay then i'll be a good guy" attitude he's having now. Same goes for Orochimaru. While I may agree with you regarding Orochimaru, over half of this manga is about not giving up on the people you care about (Sasuke) and not giving up on your ideas/principles (ninja way). It would have defeated the entire meaning of the whole manga if Sasuke never learned from his mistakes.

Again, regarding Orochimaru... keep all your eyes on him as he's fickle as can be.

You're right but the thing is, over half the manga and ever since Sasuke got the cursed mark from Orochimaru, he has been diving into the "darkness" and exploring it for himself while still trying to find the truth. I think it's good that we now know that Sasuke wants to learn from his mistake. My problem with that is after all this darkness phase he went through, suddenly in one talk with Hashirama he suddenly saw the light again and it took him an arc to see that. Like what happened to all the character build up he got from the previous arcs we've had in Naruto? Itachi even said that it was supposed to be Naruto who would make Sasuke see the "light" again but no apparently it's Hashirama. Well that's my 2 cents on this. I just didn't like how his character shift was handled in just a mere talk. But overall I see him as a better character now if he continues this way that is.

It's not just one talk with Hashirama.

Everyone had their say on the matter. Obito (although that was told in a way to spur him further down the wrong track), Naruto (multiple times), Sakura, Kakashi, even Danzo had a word in that although he was killed by Sasuke he left his parting words with him and those had an effect even if small. Then I believe the biggest push was from his brother after he broke free from Edo Tensei. Finally Hashirama just had to be honest with him and tell him the truth. It was one heck of a long journey of learning, making mistakes (huge ones too), self-discovery and all that.

If I had to guess I'd say the only times Sasuke was 'himself' in his life were before the Uchiha massacre, after forming Team 7 but before meeting Orochimaru and being branded by the cursed seal, and now ever since he talked with Itachi after thrashing Kabuto. Other than that he was more like a wandering idiot with no idea of who he was.

The chapter wasn't too bad since we're finally moving on with the present now. Sasuke's change of heart did seem a little to quick for me.

Yeah, I thought the change of heart too easy, but then it's almost predictable.  The story feels like it's starting to wind down so I doubt Kishimoto would allow for Sasuke to be a "bad guy" for much longer.

This chapter at least moved things along better than the chapter that followed it.
