Wow, unbelievable. I've been reading this manga since its inception, but I've never thought I'd be bitter about an ending before in my life. I had to make an account just to air my grievances. Just a few out of the many complaints I have...
1. First of all, that ending. Seriously Kubo? Seriously? You had one last chapter to at least give a half-assed explanation to why Yhwach lost (I would have taken anything at this point, hell, you could've had the Soul King pop back out), but instead you waste it on this family bs. Aizen gives an out-of-character speech about courage, Kazui one-shots the remnant of Yhwach's power. Great. So the trait of being overpowered apparently runs in the family. I can't even begin to describe how ridiculous it is that Ichigo, a man obsessed with fighting is suddenly married. Kubo has made it very clear that he is not a big fan of romance. The only one he somewhat alluded to was between Gin and Rangiku, but he made sure to kill off Gin before he had to write any mushy scenes. But whatever. The only person I'm satisfied with is Chad becoming a boxer, although I feel sorry for his opponents.
2. The sheer amount of ignored and undeveloped characters is astounding. I understand that Ichigo is the main character, and that the story must revolve around him. I get that. But if that's so, what the hell is the point of introducing all these other characters? While it's true that Kubo shows us characters' bankais that we've all been waiting to see, almost all of them are unexplained and thrown in without purpose (ex: Unohana's bankai. Still don't know what she did). Grimmjoww and Nel are thrown in only to fade back into obscurity. Tsukishima (hate this guy) and Ginjo randomly show up to give our trusty ol' main character his power-up back. Urahara's fight is left open-ended. And what the hell happened to Komamura? And Yachiru? Ugh. I guess what has me the most bitter is that my favorite captain Ukitake was given a unique concept of saving the Soul King, but was ultimately tossed aside like nothing just so Ichigo could have his one-on-one with Yhwach (who, btw, subsequently raped him). Smh
Anyways, as you can see I'm salty to the max. I had hoped that at least the announcement would be that there would a sequel or anime reboot that would answer all our questions. But nooooope, we get a live action movie. Oh well. Here's to a series that I could definitely say marked my childhood. R.I.P. Bleach.
