Great chapter. The last fight with Kurotsuchi was pretty on point. Hopefully this one feels the same way.

This was also on my mind. To me it feels like it has been over 100 chapters since Ichigo has done anything noteworthy. Not that I really care one way or another though. After he unintentionally went full hollow against Ulquiorra a few years ago, his character basically plateaued in terms of how interesting his character/powers were. At least to me.
Unless his new bankai causes him to sprout horns, and shoot ceros out of said horns, then he's the last character I want to see in a fight.Depends because Ichigo should be above Kenpachi, if he still has a permanent shikai then either his getsugas are condensed or he's a fraud because Kenpachis shikai is way more impressive so far.
The only truly special thing he's shown so far is that he can create black getsugas and blue getsugas in this state so he definitely has access to whatever power he has. Hopefully he can do more when he gets his actual fight.

For example, Shunsui has demonstrated the ability to hide himself in shadows when using this technique, and he can also control the shadows, using them to attack an opponent by attacking the shadow they are currently standing upon.
btw. that's a cool power - use games as weapons. I wonder what Quincies should do in order to Kyouraku shows his bankai. Loosing another eye would be... cool.
