Kirito's dual blade date from 2002 though.

Also using double sword was always a 'trend', it's a sword style that existed since millennium ago and it isn't portrayed more in anime lately than it was 10 years ago or how it was portrayed in Japanese literature before anime even started.

Bleach introduced the concept of dual zanpakutou long ago so it's also not like he decided to go with it out of nowhere.



The length of those sword is very similar to dual wield swords in kendo so I guess we can expect Ichigo's fighting style to change towards a more refined and thoughtful style like Kendo.

what a lame design for those 'blades' ...

Im sure they are working on the detailed designs... that was just the back angle preview..we won't see them in all there glory until he fights. or if they show them off next chapter (if were lucky)

well most likely so.. but I am more interested at next palace where Shutara's, anyone have an idea what is she discovered ?



and not bad idea about dual sword, I think we can hope to see more of Kyouraku and Ukitake because of this..
