hey all!

I just made an account so i could post a few thoughts that i have regarding this chapter. First time i have taken the time to create and account and talk about a manga and this is all thanks to this chapter. I am a huge fan of Bleach, but never felt that i have to go to forums and post stuff. 1st time that happened since i am reading this manga.

Ok, sooo....

The only thing that i can think about when it comes to this plot-twist is that how powerful Ichigo must be if he's inner powers manifested as a younger imagine of the leader of the Quinchys. I might even say that there must be some blood relationship betwen them. You all know that they are ranked regarding the purity of their blood and that is how when the king calls upon them they must answer.

For me this chapter showed that the past 539 chapters were about a main character that used his "fake" powers, a protagonist that had a bite of the whole power he has. Aizen knew something about Ichigo and so does the king and now ichigo knows a little bit about his true origins as well.

Where will this lead him? What powers can manifest from a shinigami that has both hollow and quinchy in him?? Cuz at the end of the day he is not a pure-blood. He is neither shinigami nor hollow nor quinchy....what is, who is Ichigo Kurosaki??

My brain this week was fucked, first GoT and now BL....epic week and there is still the Breaker that has to air....

Have a great day, everyone!!

lol they already explained in that same chapter that the reason ishida was able to use ichigo to power up his bow was because ichigo had terrible spiritual control and was unknowingly leaking a bunch of energy for ishida to absorb. That had nothing to do with ichigo being a quincy or old man being the embodiment of his quincy powers. Stop picking bits and pieces of unrelated past scenes and trying to pass them off as foreshadowing. This is wrong. Uryuu said it was impossible for him to have that much reiatsu all the time. It's even the chapter where they illustrate the difference between Shinigami and Quincy methods of using reiatsu (Shinigami are supposed to fight like this ->->->, and Quincy are supposed to fight like this<-<-<-.) The whole reason Ichigo had so much reiatsu was not because he was some kind of prodigy Shinigami, it's because he was absorbing surrounding reiatsu like a Quincy (I don't think the fact that this concept was directly referenced in this chapter is a coincidence.)

"If he can't control his power, it means he's not using his power." -Uryuu, Ch. 49

Think about it. What was shown to happen when someone who really DOES have a great amount of INTERNAL reiatsu was around? It results in that crushing reiatsu that distorts the surroundings of the picture/panels and makes weaker people unable to even walk or move. If Ichigo had been using that much internal reiatsu, Uryuu (And Rukia for that matter) would have been flat on the ground.

The idea that outside forces merely acted as a trigger for Ichigo's massive interal reiatsu to be released actually makes LESS sense.

(Possibly related, I don't think the sudden blue light/energy that briefly revived and surrounded Ichigo during his first fight with Renji was ever explained.)

And if you still don't like that example, someone else already came up with a bunch more:

It was setup even MORE obviously in the Fullbring arc in preparation for this one. Ichigo's first Fullbring throwing thingy (The projectile) is shaped like a Quincy cross. The new Zanpakuto resembles an enlarged Quincy blade.

There are other examples of lengthy foreshadowing in Bleach (Shinji's introduction showing him upside down, him writing his name backwards in class, and then 200 chapters later we see the reason when his Shikai is revealed.)

I was just about to answer but this sums it up perfectly.

Also let's not forget that only after Ishida got a taste of Ichigo's reiatsu did he became best buddies with Ichigo.

And let's not forget how Ryuuken said to not hang out with Shinigami and how Ishida made a logic leap that being with Ichigo does NOT mean being with Shinigami.

And for Fullbring - Ichigo's second fullbring form = Juha Bach's cape.

It all makes a different kind of sense now.

What. Hollow Ichigo is Ichigo's real Zanpakuto? The fuck?

Well at least we know Juha Bach hates rain! That'll rustle his jimmies.

Except there's nothing in the manga that goes against this twist, and MULTIPLE scenes that fit in foreshadowing this.

Multiple characters said that something is OFF with Ichigo's powers and bankai.

Ichigo's fighting style IS pretty much throwing arrows at people instead of shooting them.

Shirosaki refered to himself as TRUE Zangetsu multiple times calling the Old Man a fake.

Both Tesai and Urahara had a horrible reaction to Ichigo's training.

The first "Old Man Zangetsu" did when meeting Ichigo was teaching him reishi manipulation.

Why would Shirosaki use the sword's main ability first before even Ichigo and why would "Old MAn Zangetsu" never do those things?

Ichigo's FGT is pretty much identical to leitz stilt. lol Now you're just being ridiculous. Be honest, if someone would have told you back in the last arc that zangetsu's true spirit was the hollow and the old man was an evil imposter you would have never believed them because there was no proper foreshadowing. None of the things that you brought up were meant to give the readers a hint to this new development.

1. Byakuya only commented on the size of his bankai and then immediately realized its compact form was for speed.

2. Ichigo's fighting style is clearly nothing like a quincy's nor is FGT like Litz Stil.... don't even need to get into all the things wrong with that.

3. Back then, the hollow called himself zangetsu because he had overtaken the old man as the dominant figure within ichigo. Before that he claimed to have no name. He even says that he is only a part of zangetsu, implying that the old man was the main zanpakuto spirit and that together they make up ichigo's power. Nowhere did he say that he was the true zanpakuto spirit or that the old man was an impostor. http://www.mangahere.com/manga/bleach/v25/c218/19.html

Again, no real foreshadowing or planning prior to this arc. Zangetsu's character was not based around Ywach. Ywach's character was based around zangetsu and zangetsu is now something he wasn't before.

Hold the phone if "Zangetsu" was the manifestation of his Quincy powers and the hollow part of him combined with his zanpakuto are a different part of him entirely what on earth was that whole thing about hollow ichigo combining with Zangetsu way back when to teach him the final getsuga tensho?

His powers are ONE.

Quincies, Shinigami, HOllows - its just a different facet of his power.

Hichigo is part of Zangetsu and Zangetsu is part of representation of Juuha Bach, Ichigo's lineage.

Its one  part of a whole. And this actually explains on why Ichigo's bankai has a different spirit design from his normal sword.

Actually - White EVEN TRIED TO TELL ICHIGO that he IS Zangetsu.

Also Zangetsu is who Juuha was before all of this. Its a different facet of his identity, before all of the shit began.

This leads me to believe that whatever made Quincies to rebel in the first place has to do with Spirit King and something Juuha learned about him changed him - after all Juuha was convinced Aizen would help him and Aizen also hated Spirit King.

Would not be surprised if we are going to get another plot twist of uncovering that mystery leading to Ichigo, Aizen and Ginjou taking on the Spirit King.

Well when I first saw the quincy leader I thought he was zangetsu for a bit...but I didn't expect them to be one in the same.

i think that when Kubo began bleach he must've wrote the ending down on paper and then started writing/drawing the first chapter.

also, allot of people saw it coming but it was still epic to see it on page

And it now makes sense why SS tried to kill the Quincy after what Juha did in his teens.

I mean just look at him, no wonder SS raged...he stole ALL their women ffs
