Straight-up funniest chapter in years. Loved the text bubble stabbing Kon.

God, I love this arc.

and all the RG continue to be fishy as hel(especially the whole propaganda like talk, from time to time - like in this chapter about Urahara)l. It feels more like RG are preparing Ichigo and others to be sacrificial lambs than training them

Also - swords were created. The natural question comes - what was before?  Could it be that the whole "soul balance" thing is actually a giant bullshit and Soul King wanted quincies eradicated because they were destroying his food source or something?

as for eating healing: Remember what Yuruichi did after getting injured when fighting Yammy? I sense a pattern there of Urahara stealing the key techniques of each RG for whatever purpose

Also slim-Hikifune looks suspiciously like the woman Mizuiro has been staying with since the start of the manga.

So RG are suspicious and whatever, but why did Ichigo and Renji get warned this time? What does that say about this character that slims down?

Getting the feel that RG pretty much IDENTIFY themselves as gods - whole overblown ego, huge titles, entire towns serving them, obsession with creating something. Does not sound like good guys, does it?

It seems like the zero squad members all know urahara because they were affiliated with the research institute in some way, which doesn't make sense chronologically. The woman with the robo arms was apart of it at one point but as far as we know the research department was created after she joined zero squad.

And the afro guy... if zanpakutos are a product that he created then how did zaraki and ikkaku obtain theirs? They both manifested their swords back when they were roaming the rukongai. When Toushiro was a kid he developed a zanpakuto spirit without any sort of training or fighting experience.

Was the afro guy just the first to gain shikai/bankai or did he do some experiment that now effects all the souls in SS. Maybe this will also explain where the sokyoku(that giant spear zanpakuto on the hill) came from.

Urahara CREATED research institute when he became captain. Them knowing him most likely happened either during his captaincy decades OR before maggot's nest. Which is not suprising since we had hints that Urahara has seen the Soul King, just as Aizen did.

As for Afro - he might have introduced something into the world that made that possible. We do not know exact details but it can be anything from "oh I did it first" to "oh you all can do it because I messed with reality a bit"

If zanpaktous were invented by the afro guy then is Zaraki still in the most primitive stage of evolution? He has rubish blade with him all this time. Was the afro guy first to forge or to communicate with blade? I want next week already >_<

I am thinking, the afro guy forged Sokyoku, which, if true, means that we are about to get Yuruichi family info.

They talked about it when they landed. He pretty much just hitched a ride with them when he figured out they were going to a hot spring and stuff. Kon usually always does somehow get mixed in their business whether they like it or not.

Which, by the way I find interesting. Kubo would not just drop him there for no reason. So its either something to do with Urahara(maybe escape-from-here plan when things go wrong?) or there's some sort of revelation about mod-souls to come...

EDIT:

I do wonder on what did Isshin create, on if he was the fifth Guard before Hikifune...bankai? something completely unexpected?

Frankly, Hikifune is the YOUNGEST RG, so far. We know from where she came and we know that she was quite kind to Hyori, to the point that Hyori called her "mother".

I am not saying that RG are the devil himself, twirling their mustaches and talking about evil - no one in this manga is that way(which is why their insistence on someone being evil raises red flags).  Each RG shown so far has been different - Kirinji was pompous, brute and egoistic show-off, MonkGuy came off more as a plotter-pretending-to-be-the-brawler, while Shutara came off as detached but mischievously playful.

Even in both Execution, SS and Arrancar arcs you had some characters on opposing side being friendlier to the main characters than others(for example Renji in SS, Privaron Espada and Grimm in HM, Riruka in fullbring), no one is completely evil in their ways and so far Hikifune has showcased a certain ammount of worry for what is going on - but even that can be interpreted in a couple of ways:

- She might be worried about them and what they are about to get into...or

- She might be worried that these two will die before reaching whatever the final destination is.

Kubo seems to intentionally write those characters as somehow unsettling and strange/untrustworthy, with quite a few hints towards that(Urahara's insistence that Ichigo should do what he wants instead of what he is told to, RG claiming Aizen is uber evil, when even Ichigo, the main character, says he is not, RG using every chance to go on on how "bad" Urahara is and how "horribly evil" Quincies are, even though just a few chapters ago, Kubo dedicated the whole chapter into driving it home that quincies are no more evil than shinigami themselves and that both sides had something to fight for.)

Bleach had the whole mystery/detective genre elements since SS arc, with something hidden beneath the surface in every arc(Kubo even went on to talk that he has four different layers of secrets, in terms of what he puts into the arcs) and it certainly seems to continue in this one

Damn Hikifune looks amazing when she slims down haha.

Disappointed in the chapter though, I want to know about First Kenpachi Unohana and her training Zaraki.

The man who gave birth to the zanpaktou, I wonder what that could mean.

Wah, that was a good chapter, I'm liking this arc a lot. It's supplying us with a good range of new information and history as well as bringing back some of the old feelings of bleach from the older arcs.

Also Hikifune . . .

Why can't I have a body that becomes slim and gorgeous from baking a cake -.-

It's not fair! Hikifune please teach me your secrets!!
