Best part of this chapter was the mention of "Aizen Sousuke".  At this rate, he'll make my top 10 lol.

Everything else has been predicted by many for years.  Let's see what Juha meant by "my son", he's not Ichigo's "blood" father, no way.

I swear, Kubo must read message boards to get ideas

I think both Kubo and Kishimoto do that. LMAO

Interesting chapter. I dont think he literally meant son. There's obviously some kind of familial connection there. My dads an asshole, and his brother looked after my and my brother at our lowest point, he calls the both of us 'son'. He's prolly saying that in such a cryptic way so that ichigo's curiosity will be peaked and he'll go to JB for information.

And for all the people crying about ichigo getting stronger - it's a fucking shounen battle manga. Did you expect him to get weaker? Stay the same level of strength? The point of the manga is to obviously fight stronger and stronger opponents. If he could beat them at his current level of strength, THAT would make him overpowered. Not the fact he's a chimera and keeps powering up. We were never explicitly told EXACTLY what ichigo is, things have just been implied by other character. (And ill say it again, just because a character says something does NOT NECESSARILY MAKE IT TRUE, even if they say it with 100% confidence) therefore, his origins are still up for explanation, allowing kubo to do whatever the fuck he wants with it until it's set in stone.

For all the people comparing to StarWars, i have one thing to say - wait and see what happens before you jump the gun. Its ONE chapter out of 514. ITs the START of the arc. He's setting all these things up for the chapters coming out over the NEXT TWO YEARS. Stop being so impatient, stop turning implications into for sures, and wait and see.

When you're reading a novel, do you get the shits after 2 pages because it doesnt suit what you think it should be? No. You read because the author has decided the story, even if you have to wait till the last page to find out what the big secret is.

So Jura Bach is Ichigo's maternal grandfather. Basically, he inherited his shinigami and quincy powers from his father and mother sides respectively ( Insert captain obvious remark ) ... that's some major bloodline. Tite Kubo finally decided to quit stalling and did something decent for a change. 10/10

I think "son" isn't literal here. Isshin must be ichigo's real dad because ichigo pretty much inherited his zapakuto abilities from isshin(they both use getsuga). Bach's been around from a couple thousand years so it could be that he is progenitor of all the current quincies and ichigo's ancestor.

Also it seems that Aizen is somewhat acquainted with Bach. They might have both been keeping tabs on ichigo's growth process into becoming the super soul hybrid he is now.

That ending, I wasn't imagining that?!

Which is also wrong :S. What matters is not the out of proportion stuff, but how everything is delivered to the reader. E.g.: Ichigo spent some time in a jail->powerup.

Explanation? Reiatsu memory. It seems to me that the whole battle system bends itself so that even Ichigo's breathing powers him up. I'm not hating, for I have accepted such truth long ago. I'm just trying to show you that you should critisise a story without banking on other examples (unless the other examples have an incredible number of similarities in the setting/story, in which case ,Gohan/Natsu/Naruto all fail to compare with Ichigo and each other in general).

That was hinted at before:

1. Ichigo can recognize reiatsu and whom it belongs to and what type it is.

2. He can figure out person's character and feelings from a prolonged contact with it.

So prolonged exposure to quincy reiatsu would most likely trigger something in his subconscious that his conscious part of the brain forgot - like his mother's reiatsu signature or nature, for example.

Let's also not forget that fullbring basics are very reminiscent of quincy, so Ichigo is in unique state of instinctively already knowing something similar to quincy techniques (since we know that fullbring powers will have huge importance in this arc)

^Ishida WILL play a big role. On the coloured pages at the begining of the arc he was the central figure. This arc will be huge so don't be hasty to say that. ;) I would like to believe that but i don't think it's going to happen as it should. Orihime and Chad got the same hype in the arrancar and fullbring arc respectively but in the end neither of them got much screen time or character development. It seems like whenever one of ichigo's friends is about to play a bigger part in the manga ichigo steals their spot light and they are forgotten again.

Ishida will play a big role.

Pretty much half the chapters of this arc were all about "awww Ishida did not use his full potential, hype hype hype hype".

Now here are my thoughts on this matter:

1. Rukia gave him her powers but he lost them when he was cut by Byakuya. He then later awakened his OWN powers

2. I think that Juha is Ichigo's maternal grandfather and during the war his father abandoned Soul Society to elope with her.

3. Could it be that Ishida's father (knowing Ichigo's father) is actually Ichigo's mother's brother? There by making Ishida Ichigo's cousin?
