Bleach Chapter 505 Discussion

This chapter was pretty cool indeed! Kenpachi got defeated as everybody could foresee, but I hope he isn’t dead tho. I expected the upcoming battle to be like at the close end of the series, but I guess good old Kubo has other in mind.

@Kanic

Well his name is written in Katakana so I dunno if we can get anything from it like Kanji for example, unless it has a meaning in Japanese or Chinese or something like that, or if Kubo wrote Bach and he knows what it means in German, then Buckbeard's powers are water or rivers or something like that..? Or it has something to do with music maybe, or both, or well, neither.

ユーハバッハ = Juuha Bahha

The small 'tsu' ッ in kana is a 'sokuon', in a nuttshell you can say that it'll take the sound of the first consonant following it.

I'll take the exemple of the word 座って (すわって)Suwatte, (te form of the verb 'to sit')

It's not pronounced su-wa-tsu-te but su-wa-tte.

I'm not convinced about バッハ being translated to Bach, personally I'll go with either バチュ/バ久/バアチュ/バア久 depending on you want to make it be prononciated.Thanks for the info, I don't know everything about the Kana, I just memorized them and learned the basics of them, I might've missed that part.

Anyway I think there are a couple of things that makes Bach a possible pronunciation:

- The chapter he appeared in was called The Buckbeard, the Buck in it and Bach have the same pronunciation in English.

- Kubo was using Spanish for naming the Arrancar and now he's using German to name the Quincy, and Bach is a famous composer and he's German.

- The Katakana バッハ in the composer's name and in Buckbeard's name are the same.

All of these make it Bach for me, but well we won't find out until Kubo confirms it somehow, I guess.

I would like that too, but I highly doubt it.  The best days of Bleach, the SS arc, are long over.  If Kubo can somehow salvage this series I would like to see Rukia playing a big part in fights too, but also with the good development and story from the SS arc.  Well that or get rid of Inoue, I don't like her at all.

Yes the best parts are but I have faith, if this is truly the last arc that Kubo will make it decent.

In a way glad the anime of this ended just because of Inoue "Kurosaki-kun" gets on your nerves very quickly. However one thing I would like to learn about is what exactly is her power, if this is the last arc Kubo had better cover all unknowns which really intrigue people.

Really??? Inoue annoys me even in the manga, not just the anime.  Kubo should just off her, she has basically no purpose and hasn't really had one ever.  Her getting taken to HM was exactly like Rukia being taken to SS and totally killed the direction of Bleach IMO.

"..Everyone in the rebel army..". Why are they considered "rebels" and not "invaders"?

Hints like that are always killing me. I hope I'm not thinking too much.

I have always been thinking that Quincies might have been original owners of Soul Society and Shinigami were a sub-caste(hence the demonic mottiff). So you would have "demons" taking over heaven from "angels".

By this logic it's the Shinigami who are the "rebels".

Millenia ago? Yes.

But just like the whole monologue about point of view in the war implies - both sides might view each other as rebels now.

Shinigami rebelled, took over the place, created SS and claimed it their own and now they view quincies as rebels to their system, while vice-versa is true for Quincies who might also feel like they are "righteously" reclaiming their land. .

There are a lot of parallels with WW II in this and remember with what premise the fascist Germany went to war? To reclaim their lands that were taken from them.
