I enjoyed it only because it's not so serious anymore. Chad, Inoue and Ishida stepping in to help, I like it when they fight together, we didn't get to see much of that in the previous arc. Another Aizen villain type person...*sigh* But it seems like he's an Arrancar. I just hope more happens next chapter, but this is only the beginning, they might drag it out.
We don't know whether he is a villain or not... he may be a future ally. If there are Quincies wreaking havoc, then it would be to arrancars' best interests to put a stop to them - after all they can make them completely disappear.
So I think that Ivan is a messenger Arrancar from Hueco Mundo to propose an alliance with Soul Society.
Yeah good and very possible theory.
Anyway usually i bad mouth Bleach as much as the next guy since it was getting really awful but i don't see any reason for the disappointment comments right now. This new arc seems to finally get Bleach back on track after that hideous filler style full-bring arc and after a long time am actually intrigued to see the next chapter. I also like how he seems to be putting into the story characters from before like the vizards, maybe his finally gonna try to connect all the dots and give a good closure, maybe taking a break helped Kubo to think well on how to make his final arc because lately it seemed like he was just drawing staff for the hell of it without having any idea about the what his gonna do with the story.
Hell i wouldn't be surprised if he read a few Bleach forums with people making theories like Fai is doing so he can go for it in the last arc.
