Lot of people agree that the festival arc was the best arc yet this mini-arc is the closest thing to it we got in a while.
This ridiculous over the top feeling has been there since the very start but was discarded once we entered the mahou sekai arc, which most readers started to read Negima at that point so they didn't have to wait weekly for chapters.
Is it really the weekly wait that makes people not enjoy this chapter? If that's so that's a very retarded reason,
As one that started to read it before the mahou sekai arc started I am quite happy to see it return to it's former self, not that the mahou sekai arc wasn't great, just because that it didn't felt really negima-like.

So true. I started reading this 5 years ago, where the latest chapter out was the preparation for going to the magical world. Having marathoned the school festival arc, it's safe to say that it is the best arc in the whole story.

But my reasoning is a bit more shallow. I just like the romance and comedy more than the action and battles of Akamatsu, which he has refined over the years of his mangaka career.

I feel like punching so many of the girls in the fucking face right now.
This, leave the dude alone already, with the way they are treating him it would serve them right if he liked some random person and none of them all together. the only thing that i feel is for lack of better terms broken about this is that they are using his own power against him; can't he just cancel their contract? Because unless I'm mistaken the only reason their artifacts have power is because of Negi's magic right? so with the exception of people like Kaede or Yui they would be useless without their artifacts; that and the fact that they are taking advantage of the fact that he isn't even trying.Well in any case it will be interesting to see what Akira artifact will be since all guesses point to a Pactio next chapter.

I think Eva is his special someone. They're both ME users, immortal?, 10 yr old bodies, and Negi got an extremely close up view of Eva. Most importantly, as his master, she owns him.
