He was never "innocent", what he did in the beggining was morally wrong, even if he had "righteous" objectives. But now he's showing his true colours more and more, and how, in fact, he doesn't care about "right" or "wrong", he doesn't want to get rid of "evil" in the world, he wants to rid the world of people he doesn't like and/or inconvenience him. That's the kind of person he is.
