Death Note Chapter 1 Discussion

Does anyone who read the RAW know if Light writes the name of the biker dude with all the  different kanji variations or if he just writes in english as well? I know the book itself is in english in both Japanese and English, but I don't know about the names.

I read this after reading most of Bakuman.  There are definite similarities in style and the artwork.  I am really excited to read the next chapter.

The introduction is really similar to the first few episodes of the anime that I watched first. It's a good introduction to the series too.

really like the way light seems way more human here than he does in the anime, the way he's more apprehensive abt using the death note and the stuff he mentions to ryuk abt having nightmares over it and barely sleeping really makes him seem more human than he does in the anime. I also rlly liked that the manga showed us him meeting ryuk then showed us that he'd been using the death note, instead of in the anime where we see him use the death note before he meets ryuk

Cool chapter, Light seems pretty cool.
