Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 42 Discussion

I think Brotherhood changed Ed and Howenheim's conversation for the better.

It's more cold and distant, while here in the manga it's far too stupidly comedic with his father looking like a weird dumb idiot (which makes sense in hindsight) but the immature comedy from Ed feels out of place, even for a being a teenager.



The situation is far too serious to make it very comedic.

One of the few scenes that Brotherhood changed it for the better, and later revealed insight in other ways.

About his promise with his wife.



Interesting though how Lin being a prince is first revealed here instead of during their first meeting with Ed and Al, but in the manga it's AL and Winry who laugh imagining him as a prince.

Ed forgot to visit the Rockwells.

His dad is kind of creepy ...



Anyways it would seem that they might start making homunculi again. That can't be good.

Envy's ability to transform in other people is pretty cool! I thought that meeting between Hohenheim and Edward would be a lot better tbh...

Yeah, another chapter that did not surprise me. I am liking Hohenheim so far.

I like Hohenheim. Doctor Marcoh's been kidnapped!

                        Hohenheim is a lot more misterious than in the first anime.

Poor Havoc loses his girl, then gets crippled, by his girl.
