Chapter was ok with some comedy relief panels and good interaction between Ed and Winry. Best scene was when Tommy is freaking out about Pinako. She seems to have been quite a terrifying babe back then :D

hahaha Is his old instructor a butcher? And why did that dude recognize Ed but not Al, I thought they both got taught by him.

There's a very good reason for that.

Interesting slight differences from the manga of their battle against P-girl.

What's particularly interesting is how the anime seems to take a lot of Ed's sensitive moments as Al's.

Another difference that was cut was the old man knowing Winry's grandmother, and hating her as the infamous Pantheress of Resembool.

I guess she was a cougar who hunted young men or something...

Although, unlike the anime, here is where we're first revealed of how unpresent or unloving for showing nothing as a father Howenheim was to Ed and Al.

And how he was mostly studying, while his mother said he can't help it, but Ed had a feeling she cried alone for feeling lonely.

Which they do show later in some form in the manga, but it's not as clear in the anime that the father wasn't fatherly at all since Ed tells us from memory.

In the anime, we just see that moment, but no dialogue of how unfatherly he was.

The arm wrestling match wasn't included in Brotherhood either, but I remember it and other lighter moments in the 2003 anime.

Funny how the things he feels make him pathetic are the touchstones of his strength.
