Also, I don't think that manga material that isn't included in the anime adaptation qualifies as being "filler". Usually it's the other way round where the anime adds stuff that was never in the manga to begin with.



However, I agree that even with this arc being part of the manga it doesn't seem that important for the story as a whole.
