God that was one brutal chapter. Thanks to Renko we didn’t actually see that face; that tree tweet really will never be the same again; the time-skip connecting to chapter 114 explains a lot about the troupe’s evolution over the years. The Phantom Troupe was born, the mystery behind Sheila and the Kurta massacre is still covert.

Chrollo be like "Let's make a haven for criminals" but then gets angry when criminals do criminal things

Ofc, Sarasa had to die in such a brutal way. Togashi never holds up on that stuff. At least her body was restored instead of seeing "what" she looked like in that bag...



Kinda disappointed though that we will probably not get anything regarding the Kurta clan massacre.



Most likely we will have only three chapters left and need to see more of the succession war too which has been tossed aside for the mafia war's buildup.



I am calling it now, chapter 400 is Hisoka surprise appearance, kills off a spider or two. Maybe the deaths are ambiguous and then we enter another hiatus.



This manga might end up like Miura's Berserk.

This chapter (and chapter 396) is probably among my top 10 chapters of the year. I can't stress enough just how much I have been craving for information on the Troupe: their background, their evolution and lastly their purpose/agenda.

Well shit, now I'll feel really bad when they die in the hands of Hisoka.

Couldn't ask for a more satisfying backstory on one of the most iconic vilain group in shonen history. Quite short yet ties everything up neatly. Very well done, Togashi.



Only three chapters left until God knows when it comes back...

That was brutal. It still doesn't explain why the spiders became evil and started killing innocent people like Kurapika's clan for example, imo. I hope the flashback isn't over and we get to see the spiders taking care of the guys who killed Sarasa.

WHAT A STRONG CHAPTER



First, they show us the death of Chrollo's friend, all decapitated in all her parts of her body, which leaves Chrollo traumatized, plus the note that leaves him in a worse state.



The reconstruction that that girl did to the body of the dead girl is incredible and from what I see Machi can see her aura and wants to learn her techniques, I can probably see that girl's aura thanks to her beautiful eyes or I don't know how, and so on. It's how we learned how Machi learned his techniques (let's assume this)



and the icing on the cake was the disturbed Chrollo saying that he doesn't mind killing lives as long as he is a feared person and the guys who killed her friend don't come near meteor city



honestly this chapter has been the best of the Gen'ei Ryodan so far
