First Chrollo, then Ging, now Kurapika too can copy abilities? *sigh* Togashi, why you running out of ideas? :(

You forgot Meruem, lol. But yeah, the nen copying ability is a convenient way to not have to invent new techniques. But they are all very distinct in their mode of function and restrictions so I'm not too bothered.Yeah true. It's not like it bothers me all that much. It's just that my expectations for Togashi are probably a bit too high at this point xD

Glad to have it back!!!! I thought it was coming out on the 26th so I nearly died when I saw it got released earlier *o*

"It's only been two hours...since we left port"

goddamn, 9 people are already dead- are there gonna be any people left for the Dark Continent??

So we got some info on Nen beasts- of course only Nen-users can see them, but they can exist and operate even if their host isn't a Nen-user. In fact, it might be better if their host doesn't have a Nen ability, because then they can just feed off their aura without that person being non the wiser...which is what looks like what's happening with Momoze at the end.

It's her Nen beast that controlled Sairid and made him kill the three bodyguards, but she doesn't even seem aware of it happening. Yikes.

ALSO

Can we just talk about Kurapika's Bandit's Secret Steal Chain?! :o

Can he get anymore hax at this point...he basically has a lesser version of Chrollo's ability! And it looks like the Dolphin from the cover of vol. 33 so it seems like this is an idea Togashi has had in the bank for a while.

Kurapika doesn't want to rely on people so he just created an ability to temporarily acquire their abilities instead; lol how typically Kurapika XD

The downside is that he can only use that ability once and then it's returned to its original owner, but hey it's still op. Especially considering Emperor Time, Judgement Chain and Chain Jail exist as well.

With only Kurapika and Bill left to guard Woble & Oito they have to enlist the help of...Pariston or Beyond. At this point I don't even know which one's the worse option. Probably Pariston because he's a freak of nature.

But if Kurapika can work with bloody Hisoka, I'm sure he can work with anyone.

Dude at the end- Halkenburg- is totally fishy to me. Making a big issue about not wanting to participate in the succession whilst having a huge cyclops, Phoenix looking monster perched on his shoulders doesn't look too convincing lmao...

Maybe it's feeding off his hidden desires or greed?

Kurapika is handling the situation well, its going to be interesting seeing how it will be using that guards ability. As for Prince Halkenburg, something seems fishy.

Great chapter. Finally after so many years, we discover what Kurapika's index finger's power is. Based on the spoilers I was a little worried it would be too overpowered but after reading, it seems like there's at least two conditions to its use:

-He has to know the user's nen category.

-He can only use the ability once.

In fact, you can also add that he needs to be capable of sucking the opponent's nen for a while (which might not be possible on a user of equal or greater strength than him) and has to be in the state of Emperor time. So all in all the ability seems pretty balanced.

I think at this point, it is undeniable that Kurapika has the most versatile ability in the entire series. Part of it because of his talent, but also because of his determination and last but not the least, his genes (scarlet eyes).

The pacing is really good too, Togashi seems to be wasting no time revealing the various nen beasts of the princes. And the king, as expected is a massive a-hole. He seems to have no concern for his kids.

One interesting concept introduced in this chapter seems to be that of "parasitic type" of nen abilities. I hope it is explained how exactly that jar or whatever it is, has the power to do such a thing.

Well, looking forward to the next chapter :)

The only preparations I ended up doing was re-reading the last chapter (I intended just to skim it but couldn't help myself) and that was a mistake, since by the end of the chapter I wasn't fully sure who any of the characters were once we lost focus on Kurapika. I looked them up and it came back to me but still. Just something I'm going to get use to now that I read Hunter x Hunter as it comes out.

Anyway, the chapter itself was a solid return. Kurapika's intelligence and somewhat harsh attitude continues to showcase why he's my favorite character. And the final power being another steal ability didn't really bother me. I know it can be disappointing with how frequently Togashi seems to dip into that well but each of them have unique specifications and it makes sense that Kurapika would develop an ability like this (and as many pointed out, the connection to Chrollo's power is neat). I'm also really interested in discovering what Bill's plans are, the ones involving Pariston and Beyond both intrigue me. Particularly Pariston, not only because Pariston is one of the most fascinating characters in Hunter x Hunter but because there was that little indirect tee-off between the two during the Hunter Exam. Considering Kurapika took his slot in the Zodiacs as well, I'm really looking forward to the two interacting.

YOOOOO

Finally it's back and gets right to it, kurapika's power is a one time aura nen ability stealing technique with a syringe :O

Prince Maya is the one with the free beasts but doesn't know it and kurapika might ally with partison or beyond to get the queen secured.

With Pariston should be more fun/interesting. Kurapika is his successor after all. And I want to see Kurapika getting pissed off by this troll XD

People focus too much on Kurapika stealing the hatsu or another copy technique again, but seems to forget that it also drains Nen of the target thus force them into a Zetsu like state. The question is how fast will it drain the target. I mean even if he uses In to sneak the Steal Chain into piercing the enemy, they will feel it cause of the said pain it gives, and might remove it if possible. As of now we don't know if the target can remove it on their own or only Kurapika can~Good observation I must say, about how maybe it can't be removed once it starts stealing the person's Nen. I wonder how it would work for Kurapika to steal Chrollo's ability. Kurapika definitely has an advantage against Chrollo because Chrollo can't steal his abilities due to all his restrictions to do so. If a sneak attack were possible, Kurapika could steal Chrollo's Nen and have instant advantage over him.
