I wanna be civil about this, I´ve started reading HxH recently I´m not caught up, but I read the chapters alongside the other Jump releases on Thursday.
No offense to the dedicated fans, but how does this differ to the "bullshit" every popular Battle Shounen pullls?I just don´t know how HxH fans want to defend it as a Seinen with no plot armor after this and the Gon incident.
I'll try, hahah. No worries, you can critic as much as you want with anything, HxH included. I also hope no one gets offended by it.
First off, HxH is not a Seinen. It's a Shonen manga that aims to attract the younger audiences, especially the younger male ones.
About the bullshit you're implying, the Gon incident where Alluka only got introduced because it was needed that time for Gon's plot armor, and it's the biggest asspull I do believe when I heard about her saving Gon from despair. But the story managed to reason that out by confirming that Nanika came from the Dark Continent where so many unexplained things are yet to be explored.
Now about Hisoka reviving from his fight against Chrollo, it wasn't that far fetched from how HxH and nen works. It was explained that Hisoka protected his organs by his nen and nen is something that dwells within. His nen, the bungee gum, managed to revive him from obliteration and death commanding his nen that should he die or stop from breathing, let it soothe and revive his organs back. All nen is after all connected to how great your resolve and your will to survive. I still haven't read the full English scanlation of the recent chapter yet so I'm still not quite sure. But I'll give it a benefit of the doubt that somehow the chapter gives a better explanation regarding this. I know I should not jump to conclusion that when something I haven't fully understand yet should be called an asspull. Though at this moment, I do felt like it's an asspull.
I won't say that HxH has no plot armor but at least this manga presented a more reasonable excuses to cover up this plot armor usage.
