Hunter x Hunter Chapter 341 Discussion

Well, the main characters need to take a step back and allow the arc and the new characters to be introduced. It will be quite boring if the whole HxH world revolved around Gon and Kurapika like how Naruto is.

Well I don't think I'd ever get bored of following Kurapika (especially considering how long it's been since we've seen him [sans the cameo in the Election arc]) but regardless, I agree. One of my favorite things about Hunter x Hunter is the wide cast of interesting characters, most usually, with a vital role to play. It was brought up & I just find it kinda interesting, that's all I meant by that.

I'm realizing now bringing that up then going to say it wasn't anything all too special  probably left it easy to infer my problem was the lack of the main characters. That's not the case though, I didn't even have any issues with the chapter.

That self-sufficient humanoid was ridiculous! Scared me out of my socks...

I'm loving this view on immortality being a virus, an agonizing disease you have no choice but to life with. Ughhh

But wow... I'm loving how HxH is so uncliche in that the greatest threat to everyone isn't just an actual person or being, but these five 'calamities'. It's still really vague right now, but I'm really impressed how detailed Togashi goes in for his arcs, from the personalities of the ants to the landscape of the dark continent. He's a brilliant storyteller that's for sure.

I thought, like someone here also mentioned, that Togashi would ~go back to its roots~ with Hunter x Hunter. Guess I've got it all wrong. Let's see where this will end up. I'm curious, but with a curiosity sort of strange. Like when, in the Troupe's arc, there is that part when Gon and the Troupe's leader have a little chat and Gon, in that obscure night, looks to him and ask why do they (the Troupe) kill people that have nothing to do with them.

Gosh, I want more!

Hopefully, Togashi's ~worn out~ is partially result of his work on this next arc. Thinking all those things must screw up a little bit one's mind. lol

So , I was thinking about how togashi might approach the complexity that he is facing with gon . knowing him he would try to avoid the cliché route all time but there might be one solution to it unless it is too typical. If you are updated with the latest chapter then there could be some speculation regarding new developments of the unknown power that resides on dark continent .

I think the thing to be looking forward to with Gon is the fact that he's now a hunter that's gained true notoriety; once he's back into the fold of things, he's going to see that he's grown quite famous among other hunters (I doubt his exploits are going to have gone unnoticed, as however unusual the circumstances, it's indisputable that he's the only human to have killed a royal guard 1:1. Of course, include his very public exchange with Ging and Leorio shouting throughout the election to save him.

If he has managed to get a star out of the ordeal, Kite and/or Biscuit may gain another star (assuming they're only 1-stars), if he could be construed as an official disciple to either. Anyways, he's going to be sought-after now, star or not, given that he took part in the extermination. I wouldn't be surprised to see Morel and crew to jump back into the fold again, as they held Netero's will near and dear to their hearts as well as the Zodiacs (I see it very likely that Morel will become a three-star after this, and possibly replace one of the now-resigned zodiacs).

I think it's safe to assume Leorio and Killua at least will be major players in the coming arc, as Leorio has shown clear regret in not being there for Gon. As for Killua, it seems likely that Alluka's mysterious and terrible power may be related to one of the calamities, so that's an inevitable draw for those two. And if the criminal underworld is as heavily involved in illicit operations with the DC as this chapter suggested, it's highly likely that we could once again see the PT getting in on the action. That of course, brings in Kurapika.

It's all looking like a very grand shitstorm may be brewing down the line, discounting what's sure to be a very fucked up locale for it to all take place in.

I'm beside myself with hype, of course.

Is Kite still considered as a hunter though since Colt and the other ants are put in protection as mythical beasts?

Great chapter, love the writings. Plenty of stuff to discover. Remember when Silva Zoldyck said that Alluka is something from a different place, something dark?

The mutilated twisted corpse with just the hands and feet visible is similar to Alluka's victims, so we can safely assume that Alluka is from the outside~!!

Also Alluka's ability was illustrated as a mobius snake with the line "the degree of wish Alluka can grant is probably infinite" which is very similar to the two tailed snake. Maybe Alluka is one of the 5 calamities~! http://puu.sh/94Sdz/96c24a6fd3.jpg

This means that one of the Zoldyck's probably accompanied Netero to the outside world and brought Alluka back. Maybe Zeno's grandfather Maha, the only reinforcement user in the family that fought Netero once.

nice catch everything makes sense that alluka is a freak. togashi you genius

Kite with his friend already had contact with Kakin in the beginning of the ants arc. Maybe a new contract . http://i37.mangareader.net/hunter-x-hunter/186/hunter-x-hunter-326580.jpg

Why did madhouse skip this important information?

We see about that too in the anime. They speak about Kakin in episode 76, it is Hwang from Kakin who tell them about the pieces of the queen. And Banana tell that they have done a inventory of species for them. We saw them in a office in Kakin.

The art looks pretty good in the first few pages of this chapter, but when it went back to the Zodiacs it became derpy looking again. :( I guess Togashi is prioritizing on when to draw good or bad.

Any ways another buildup chapter, again dialogue heavy, not that I'm complaining since we need chapters like these to give us insights about the new world and how the story will go from here.

overall 3/5.
