Hunter x Hunter Chapter 266 Discussion

Once again,  Togashi manages to drag out these sequence of events. but to his credit, a punch was finally thrown in this chap. =P

The narration is starting to get tiresome. LOL. I can understand it being used at first, but don't tell me every chapter is gonna be like this. And I love how the entire chapter... or more like the past 2 chapters have all occured in like 1 second in HxH's time. If this isn't stretching it out I dunno what is.

It's almost as if Togashi's lost his sense of the characters.  He's been using narration rather than dialogue to progress the storyline, and that tells me that he's missing something important.  Granted, two years is bound to do such to one's understanding of their characters, but still.



As for the chapter itself, it's one of the better recent ones, but still not the best.  I want me some real action!

Sadly, I believe that Hunter x Hunter has developed a Dragon Ball Z complex.  It's taking too many chapters to get through one sequence of action.

                Very nice chapter, the action has finally started moving.

This shit was brilliant. I liked this part in the anime. But the way Shoot's emotions of what seems like despair turn into admiration and a new feeling of determination is powerfully handled here, the narration only serves to add to the scene. "This is Gon!" God damn.



I guess it's a matter of hindsight, but it's not the action that Togashi is really concerned with here but rather the extreme emotions like what Shoot showed as well as highlighting Gon's ridiculously fast thinking.



"Pouf smiled peacefully" So the King is gone, I think it's pretty obvious where he would be.
