HOLY SHIT, Amazing but also hella confusing chapter.



A nen doctor? Interesting. Very detailed explanation of Hisoka's powers, I think I got the gist of it all (no I didn't).



So he is part of the group Kurapika is hunting, or at leasts aligns with them not in his own personal headspace though. Seems like they're also meeting in Yorknew City.

nice explain about the Hisoka victory, but the surprise was the spider tattoo in the Hisoka back!!!

He doesn't belong to the phantom brigade but is actually faking it. Quite a reveal right there. And what's with that manservice.

                        Wow, was that girl the one from the prison tower? If so, that's kinda cool, because I really wanted her to make another appearance ever since then... she just looked really awesome (it's the hair). Since it was revealed what Hisoka said to Kurapika, I was pretty sure he might be in with the Phantom Troupe.



I almost think that Wing could be too. Won't be surprised either way, though. Not sure it needed a chapter to explain what Hisoka did to win, but I am starting to really understand his badassery and feel like he's a pretty unique character.

oh, how I love nen. Hisoka's powers are pretty simple but they can be used so effectively and in different ways.



I actually prefer the explanation to come in its own chapter rather than in the fight. It is the first time we see a true nen fight, so we are supposed to be amazed and don't understand everything in the beginning. And since it's all so new, a pretty long explanation afterwards is helpful.



Hisoka trying to flirt with Machi is great. Hisoka might be a murderous crazy clown, but he's still a person.

Goddamnit Hisoka is a great character. The amount of thought put into his ability and how he utilizes trickery to win his battles. I bet that's how he caught the blades in the Hunter Exam, for example. Getting ever so close to Yorknew now.....

Oh yeah, he probably did use Bungee Gum back there. Makes sense, he was using nen all the time during the Hunter Exam.



Kinda disappointed by the first half of this chapter honestly.




I loved the explanation of Hisoka's victory in the 2011 anime but I didn't really like how they presented it here, with well, just an explanation, rather than through dialogue with some humor added in. Plus, and this maybe (probably is) the scanlations fault but I don't think I would've really understood it had I not seen the Madhouse adaption.



I suppose I should start spoiler tagging my comments that compare it to the MH version so I spoiler tagged the above.



Either way, I love the idea here. Normally shonen fights tend to explain the strategy utilized during the fight, to make sure people aren't confused, I'm sure. However Hisoka vs. Kastro ignores this, not explaining anything about Hisoka's powers until after we've already seen it's conclusion. It's presented much in the way of a magic trick, you see it before they tell you (if they tell you, that is). Which is very fitting for Hisoka.



& then stuff with the Phantom Troupe. Perfect, I'm stoked for Yorknew.

The big reveal! Hisoka is spider #4, or is he?! HMM... 

They could have explained Hisoka's nem quicker on the battle, don't think an entire chapter was needed.
