NANA Chapter 77 Discussion

His death was foreshadowed many times, but still. I don't want him to die. Nana still needs him. Whyy. Also, to think that Hachi was the last person to talk with him. It's just too sad! Ren! ;_;

Knew Ren was going to die for awhile now, but still so sad to see it. I actually got choked up.

The next couple of chapters are going to be really interesting.

Oh dear god this, this entire chapter was nothing but pain.

hmmm...i thought in one of the 'future' episdoes, Hachi mentions Ren in the present tense---something about how he is doing...so isn't he alive??

Omg, ren can't be dead. :(  I mean I expected Ren to die, it was pretty obvious based on the previous chapters and stuff....but wow... good chapter. I want chapter 78 now lol.





nana can't end at chapter 78, theres wayy too much that needs to be tied up before nana ends, and you cant tie it all up in one chapter. but NANA defenitely seems like it will be ending soon.

The part I especially loved in this chapter is contrast between Shion and Nana monologue. That was awesome.



And about the reporter... is he a bad guy or a good guy? I mean he helped Nana's mother and in future he sends Hachi Nana's pictures...

So I guess that's why (among other reasons) that Takumi and Hachi name their second child Ren. But seriously, Reira messed EVERYTHING up!



So it looks like Ren is gone... and this is what initiates Nana's breakdown and leave to England? I know that's probably a good enough reason for her but I feel like there should be more... otherwise everything would have been foreshadowed and nothing new is happening. I think yazawa has a few more tricks up her sleeve.



So... could the next chapter be the last? (ending at the symbolic 78?) I don't think this can be wrapped up in one more chapter though... I hope there's more!

oh no!!!! i dont want Ren to die. He's the coolest, most faithful guy around ever! AAAAAAA It must be due to the drugs that he hallucinated and saw Nana on the roof for a brief second. He mustn't die! He is such a brother to Reira, and he gives advice to Hachi, and he LOVES nana more than anything else! AAAAAAA.. it is not entirely Reira's fault, she wanted Ren to use that "time" to quit drugs the proper way, through hospital or whatever. *sigh* He just shouldn't have gone alone... And the damn reporters on his tail, that's why he was perhaps speeding rather fast too.
