Its deja vu all over again. They still have Oboro and he Tendesho  running around  They should have gotten rid of all of them

My main complain about this arc, nothing has really changed.

Because everything IS about to change. I think that this is the point of the recent developments; to enhance the fact that living creatures keep clinging to false hopes and repeating the same mistakes over and over (which accounted for Gintama's corrupt universe). They just don't learn, even now after all what happened, and that's more or less the basis of Utsuro's animosity towards the entire world.

To put it simply, there was no way for Gintoki to stop Utsuro at that time AND put and end to that "cycle". He would've failed in one of them at least, let alone during the state of war they were in against all those factions.

The matters needed some time to cool down in order to get solved once and for all. The main players in that matter each needed one more step, one more resolve, and perhaps one more conviction in order to reach a final conclusion. Gradually and eventually, everyone is unknowingly getting what they needed (Kid Shoyo/Utsuro, Gintoki, and Takasugi, in particular).

Damn, I don't see how Takasugi can survive in the end.

Please Sorachi-sensei, don't kill him!

So Takasugi's immortality is "flawed" in a way since Oboro's blood was already dried up. The more you're on the brink of death, the less the blood will keep you alive. It seems like the Tendoshu are using this Altana religious cult to gain power and followers. And the Tendoshu are using the Utsuro body for research, mainly to create true immortality.

Well, this chapter basically shows that Takasugi is mainly interested in trying to save Shoyo, and is also encouraging Gintoki to join him with his plans. There's no guarantee that it will have the mind of Shoyo or Utsuro, but I guess it's worth taking the risk. If it's Utsuro though, (which I think it might), I guess the endgame antagonist will still be Utsuro then.

Well, Edo (and Earth in general) is gonna be in war again. Though last time, it was mainly just the Liberation Army. Now it seems like it'll only be the Tendoshu doing the attack. But lol, Katsura's actually just being attacked by Sougo. But the ending, Gintoki and Takasugi are back in Edo. Though I doubt Gintoki will meet up with Kagura and Shinpachi in the next chapter.

Well, this chapter gave us a hint on what this series' direction will be for the rest of the arc. Utsuro's body is in Tendoshu's hands. Tendoshu's planning on finding the method that grants them perfect immortality, and they'll be after Earth's Altana soon enough. Meanwhile Gintoki and Takasugi are planning on reviving the Utsuro body the Tendoshu has. If the body wakes up as Shoyo, then their mission was a success. If the body wakes up as Utsuro, then they'll probably have to kill him. Oh yeah, and there's also that subplot where everyone's trying to assassinate Zura :P

Also, this series probably still have a good 30+ chapters left. Gintama's "climax"? More like a new arc XD

5/5

Maybe we should name it Final Fantasy arc?Lol, probably...

Amazing!! Sorachi nailed it!!!

I'm getting the 'real ending' vibes now.. Gintoki and Takasugi holds hands to fight for one last itme. And we have Zurump. XD But where's Sakamoto?? I really want him, and also Kamui.. Sougo attacks Shinjaku suddenly??! XD

I wish Gintoki meeting Kagura and Shinpachi soon.. But is it sure that they join with him?? Gotta wait for the next chapter..

I really loved the way how Sorachi show the thoughts of his characters with the environnement around them. In last chapter we had Takasugi surrounded by multiple Utsuro, and in his chapter we have Gintoki with Edo at the back. Also the way the panels are cut is really good, for exemple when Takasugi put the sword in his heart, 2 panels show the same scene, there is the page with Takasugi and Gintoki "becoming allies", the arrangement of the page makes this scene epic af. There are a lot of smalls details (also the smalls flashbacks everywhere) like that which make me enjoy this chapter even more than the previous.

Sorachi gives us amazing chapters since the beginning of this ne arc, and I'm surprised that this is actually better than the end of SS arc, and every f***ing weeks, it get better and better without letting us a time to breathe. The cliffhangers at the end don't stop filling me with hype, and give me the incredible sensation that Gintama will be insane until the end, and the end is not that close that we all think at the start of this year.

I loved the way that Takasugi, a underused character with great potential became a protagonist for the story, with a very interesting development. I was afraid to not see him again at the end of the previous arc, and now I am the happiest man on Earth.

Obviously 5/5

Finally I wondered about the name that this new arc will take. Something about Shoyo/Utsuro, or maybe a SilverSoul pt.3 (but I think that this arc deserve maybe more the SS name than the previous, which I can call "Battle of Edo" or something like that)

PS: English is not my native language so I may did mistakes, feel free to correct me :D
