So if I get it right, Kagura reminds Kamui of mother, so that's why he went from protecting her to beating crap out of her? Huh, huh I kind of get it but I kind of don't, I hope english scans will explain that better.
Anyway... If this will be it for Utsuro I will be kinda dissapointed. I always thought it will be Gintoki having epic battle with him. So far I am expecting Utsuro to come back to life like frikin phoenix.

Someone needs to get through to Kamui, this is the climax of his character development, know that we know his reason for being the way he his now, he can move towards his first steps of redemption.
Poor kagura....oh man
i just read a rough translation: it seems the reason why kamui acts so ugly towards kagura is because she is the living image or reminder of the person he cherished- their mother

Ok I'm not trying to insult you.......but how the hell can't anyone understand his reasoning?? It's so freaking simple.
Kamui has literally nothing left in his mind other than surpassing his father and becoming the strongest. It's like a consolation prize for not being able to abandon or protect his family. So he clings to this mentality.
People are getting confused with the word "surpass" when he's in fact trying to kill him. In yato world that usually means the same thing.
He couldn't save his mom
His family was the "cause" of her demise
His father introduced him to the mentality "get stronger" and mistook its meaning hence twisted mind.
He blames umi for not fully explaining to him what it meant. Which is why he hates him and puts all the blame on him
If there IS one thing I DONT understand from kamui is his behavior towards kagura. I dont know if he hurts her as a gesture of strange affection because she's his baby sister or the fact she looks like their mom. Its safe to say he doesn't HATE her, he sees her as a hindrance. But why lash out at her? i get all that about Kamui's reasoning. But his motivations aren't being justified and that's sad. About Kagura and Kamui's fight, well, it is obvious that he couldn't stand seeing the resemblence of his past (not just mother) in Kagura and seeing that - it really hurt him, but yea, why does Kagura always have to suffer so much? she totally does not deserve that!
No she does not, despite all that's happened she still wants her brother back. A real sweetheart, after having her father and brother abandoning her and kamui trying to hurt her more than once she still wants her family back.
Others are hoping she goes beast mode to teach her brother a lesson. I think its wrong, to solve violence with more violence, especially between siblings. They are both hurt, damaged goods, especially kamui. I hate to say this but i want to see talk no justu have its part in this rather than more blood spilled between siblings.
