She expected angel wings because of the Grigori thing, so it wasn't forced at all. It was just a small expectation of Maka on Soul's form in flight. And she wanted the wings because she is a GIRL.

Regardless plot moves forward, the standard training arc seems to be upon us.  But who knows, Maka & Gopher (horrible name!) may tango soon enough.  I can't get over how badass Black Star is, sparring head on w/ Stein!
