After a long time I finally started and finished reading sailor moon, I watched
the first three seasons ages ago but stopped at superS.
The first 3 arcs were very nostalgic but the overall pacing of the manga is a bit too fast....out of all
I liked the eath busters arc (outer senshi!) the most and the manga did not change that though I prefer
the anime version of dark kingdom over the manga one but maybe that's just nostalgia speaking.
Deadmoon arc was OK, some may say it is awful but atleast the guardians got some development for once and in the manga they already
get so little but the final arc Stars I have mixed feelings about... its not terrible or anything but yea its dark and the mood totally did a 180, I was in disbelief
at what was happening to some of my fav characters. :( no one could have expect this at all maybe that why its so good.
Characters well if its not Usagi,Mamo or chibi anyone else barely get development but in the anime the other guardians actually managed
to shine a bit which I liked, it just shows that filler or side story can be a good thing. Art was gorgeous though which made it all the more worth it.
What to dislike? not much! hmm fast pace aside, we know the guardians cherish and live only to protect Usagi even tho Mina clearly would like to have a BF
but no apparently this is a lie. IMHO they are allowed a BF or GF! I kinda ship Michiru and Haruka so i'm kinda sad their fate is kinda open ended.
We know that one point in the first arc were teased as their lover but maybe that was just in the past.
There's some loose ends the author didn't want to further expanded upon the sailor senshi don't need lovers perse
but I think they deserved more than just our life for sailor moon.
What else? hmm I don't like nit pick kodansha's translation which was imo just fine some spelling error but what stood out was
some of the sailor senshi's attack names! I only ended up liking mercury's as they flowed well but ones such as mars and jupiter was really awkward.
Sailormoon is still a classic, and in no way its bad! managed to tell many good things and anime/manga gives and takes.
The actual ending was quite heartwarming, I did love the romance of Usa/mamo throughout
and did not disappoint, but it star arc oh boy... was that one hell of a final arc.
