In my opinion, I loved this series as a whole. The fun quirky characters, mixed in with the horror and battle scenes, really made this series an enjoyable read for me.
However...
The ending in my opinion was bullsh*t and they had so much more potential to go on with more story plot with this series. I wanted to see Michiru use her new found abilities in zombie battles, and I wanted to see more character development overall too. There were multiple hints dropped to how character relationships were yet they were small and not really conveyed satisfactory enough for when they ended this manga. In a way, it really makes the ending feel empty, it being one of those open to interpretation endings. Don't get me wrong, an open to interpretation ending can be great if you can pull it off, but this series didn't pull it off very well as questions that needed to be answered for this series to seem fulfilling enough to pull off such an ending, just weren't answered.
I hope that Peach pit decide to make a season two to this manga at some point. A story of how life continues for them would be really great. It would also add to character development and answer many questions I had regarding this series (hopefully)
Plus, I'm going to add my fan girl quote here, I really wanted more ChikaXMichiru scenes, or a bit more establishment on how Chika felt towards Michiru, because there was something there, but I believe due to Peach Pit not wanting to trample over the fans of Shito, they just chickened out last second, which had me writhing in agony. They even had the coldness return between them when time reset, it was like a kick to the face. Though Chika and Shito dying again in the end caught me off guard, I was like
'Does this mean they are dead for good, or are they going to be saved?'
As stated before it's an open to interpretation ending, so though we would all like to assume that it means they both become zombies again, what if the gate keeper is too late or something, he only spoke about starting zombie loan, after they died, not during their death, so it had me sort of anxious.
Anyway, essay complete. Overall, this manga is worth a read. Just don't get any sort of high expectation for romance like me, otherwise you will crash and burn. I do demand a season two peach pit, even though you may never read this comment. My desperate fan vibes will chase you until you make one.
