Chrno Crusade Chapter 37 Discussion

Damn that head o.O, they kinda looked like a fun bunch but that kinda fucked them..

Currently the only completely antagonistic forces in the Chrno Crusade universe are the pursuers but even then they're pursuing the sinners for causing so much havoc and to restore order so they aren't completely evil or anything either.  The way we have our main cast of Chrno, Rosette, Azmaria, and Stella and the Sinners who are all characterized to be fighting for valid reasons they believe in, to be caring people when it comes to each other and some for people outside of  their group, to be a group who cherishes victory and regrets defeat and mistakes is nice.  It's nice to want to root for both your antagonists and protagonists.



A valuable piece of information was in this chapter.  The reason Chrno killed the 100 demons is, somewhat similar to the Chrno vs Viede and Aion scene, was because all the other sinners, people he cared for, were killed.  The weak sinners were slaughtered, one of which Chrno held in his arms.  Seeing this sent him off to slaughter the pursuers back and that became something he'd later regret doing.  

Regarding the scene we learned this, Aion reminded me of
Griffith.  "Don't you think we need to keep moving forward as the ones who survived?", alike Griffith's symbolic bridge of corpses.  You cannot stop because you're not only fighting for your dreams, but for all the people who paved the way to the point you're at.  Aion clearly thinks actions are what matter.  And he even refers to Chrno as his blade which is reminiscent of Griffith and Guts relationship.

I wasn't expecting Pandemonium to reform and steal body parts and stuff like it did.  I wonder if her memories were extracted in present day and that's why the sinners figured out they need to collect the Apostles to restart the world, that being her weakness.
