                        I didn't feel like Ruby was giving it all to win that match, though I do feel the hit at the end was warranted. Ruby isn't as humble and composed as he has been portraying himself. I wish Sapphire's fight would have been shown.

it so obvious ruby lost on purpose, only to 'help' emerald in his mission...

To me it felt like Ruby lost on purpose to make Emerald realize something. Seems the pokemon remembered too.
