Gantz Chapter 348 Discussion

It's funny how this reflects our world currently, in respect to the government and media telling us things. Most of us just gobble it up without actually thinking it through on our own. I like it when mangaka sometimes try to tie something in with the current world.

Now as for the story, it seems like it's progressing at a nice pace imo. Sometimes if the pacing is too fast then I feel like sometimes the plot gets muddled because too many things are happening at once.

I can't wait to see the looks on the ppl who are badmouthing Kei over the internet when the aliens go on the rampage and start offing them again >:}

Then they'll be like "please, Kei...save us! We're sorry!"...what hypocrites.

Anyways this chapter was awesome with a steady pace. Too bad glasses had to die, but oh well...this is Gantz after all :D

Well, -1.

Meanwhile on earth, there's an online fight for justice.

Oku's cynical depiction of society really is great, I was chuckling at the online talkback.

Sigh....why is it that everyone is suddenly pro Alien? These guys destroyed America, slaughtered millions for no real reason, suddenly they make a peace treaty and paint the ones with the only effective weapons as terrorists. And yet, NO ONE IS SUSPICIOUS! If this was reality there would be at least one person saying "hey guys I still don't trust them." and he wouldn't be one of the people who were abducted.

But well this has always been the problem with Gantz. Anyone who doesn't suit up or isn't closely related to the main characters is either evil,stupid or stupid and evil.

The manga is just showing that the majority of humans are in favour of peace and have been fooled into believing the aliens want it too.  Obviously it's an action manga so it's not going to explore this in a complex fashion, having one dissenting voice in an online forum does the job.

It's like the British government continuing to appease Hitler despite the fact that he just destroyed Austria and Czechoslovakia.  (sorry Godwin)

Fun fact: Neville chamberlain's real goal was to buy time because he knew Britain wasn't ready for war, he wasn't a COMPLETE idiot despite what was thought, and was using the time he bought to try and rearm Britain.

It just so turned out that instead of buying time all he did was show Hitler blood in the water, and acutually spead up the attacks.

What is happening here is the equivalent of chamberlain actually BELIVING the stuff nonsense he spouted out.

Humans are so stupid. I mean why the fuck would you just go visit the enemy's main base after they just slaughtered half of your population and think they are welcoming you with open arms.
