Mashima should fix Jellal's scenes. REALLY. He should somehow be able to land a scratch on August since he is a powerful mage and was one of the Ten Wizard Saints, but all we got is him being completely hopeless against August. I was hoping for this Jellal-August fight, yet, it came out terrible. Please make a decent fight scene between them before letting Gildarts face August.
As for Erza-Eileen relationship, I hope Eileen's just confusing them with that 'I am you. You are me' speech. I stick to the mother-daughter relationship. And please, don't wake Gray & Natsu up yet to help Erza as she fights Eileen. Wendy will do, though it will be really really tough.
Mashima wants to hype August as the "strongest Spriggan" probably more than Irene, so Jellal and OS are going to be the sacrificial lambs just like Jura and the other wizard saints is too Job Serena.

Jellal vs August was too off-paneled, I'm happy that August is kicking his ass though. Good on him to live up to the hype.

#1 Eileen was accidentally created by the R system back when Erza was trapped in the lacrima. The R system was meant to be for resurrecting the dead. It required a living sacrifice. Perhaps Jellal was mistaken as to how it actually functions, it did not work because Zeref was never dead, or it malfunctioned when Natsu destroyed it.
Either way, the R system ended up creating a duplicate of Erza instead (Eileen). The 8 years of time skip would explain Eileen's older appearance and her greater magical power. Also recall that the explosion of the R system was much smaller than anticipated. At the time, Erza thought that Jellal was responsible for containing the explosion. But now, another possibility is that all that magic power was absorbed into Eileen, which explains why she has such tremendous magic power.
Finally, this theory would also explain why Eileen wanted to kill Erza, because as long as Erza is alive, Eileen would remain a copy of the original. No matter how powerful Eileen is, she will always remain a copy, something inferior, so that is why she wanted Erza dead so that there is only one of them.
#2 Eileen created Erza from one of her organs (hence the scar on her abdomen) using her enchantment magic. It would be similar to the biblical story of Eve created from Adam's rib. Since it came from her, it is superior to her other enchantments made from inanimate objects. Somehow they both got separated in the past. We will find out soon why Eileen hates Erza so much that she wants her dead.

All four theories above would explain Eileen's cryptic speech that they are both the same person. From the very beginning of Fairy Tail, there has been zero mention of Erza's biological parents, if she even have any! The mystery will finally be solved soon. I really hope it isn't another BS parallel universe or time travel explanation though; those have been done to death.

More interested in August at this point though I was hoping he would go up against Gildarts not the Crime Sorciere and Jellal.

Why would Acnologia bother with August though?
If August decides to protect someone Acnologia is targeting then he would since he would be an obstacle in his way. A momentary one but an obstacle none the less. Or maybe he would after Eileen pulled off her bullshit stunt on him so he would no longer take any chances and kill all potential pests.
I see Acnologia going more after Irene too, since he must be pissed that she sent him so far away from his targets. Not to mention, by directly provoking Acnologia, Irene has involved him in the war completely.

specially Jellal's ending monologue with that face it really looks like he has something cooked up for August.
August resembles Shakuma more though.

Yeah...not Haja's coutnerpart(his mirror in FT is Brain who's super weak).... but Haja leveled character from Rave.... Haja's the 2nd strognest sorcerer next to shakuma while August is the 2nd strongest mage next to Zeref.
