So either A) this is another fakeout or B) there's zero emotional impact from this because of all the fakeouts.

Also, his death was completely pointless as of now.  Unless Mavis's plan is really bad than Makarov goes right into the needless death folder.

also,most likely she is going to use enchant again to revive all the Soldiers.

Anyways...Isn't this the 4th or 5th time Makarov is teased to be dead? I literally can't take his sacrifice seriously until I know he's for sure dead and if he is, RIP Grandpa, you were the most resilient in the end...seriously. It also doesn't help that Gajeel and Juvia were thought to be dead as well so it's hard for me to believe he actually dies. I'm going to bet there is some sort of ass pull again.



Also...Irene is a woman after my own heart. Super hot, red hair, cruel and has bad ass magic. Seriously, she's slowly becoming my new waifu for the series.

Pretty sure he is not dead. The author trolls a bit too much.

My reasoning why I believe Makarov isn't dead is not just because he was teased multiple times, but how recent the "death" tease we got from Gajeel and Juvia. There is no way Makarov can be dead so soon after those two. If he truly is dead, then the impact of loss and despair is taken away from us because we became so skeptical about anyone dying.



That right there is the epitome of bad writing. Hiro has become the "Boy Who Cried Wolf".  No one can believe you after pulling the same stunt twice.



Either way,  whether he is dead or alive, Hiro and us fans loses due to Hiro's bad writing. Like I said before, if he's dead, the impact is not there. If he lives, then it's just another ass pull. Its a lose-lose scenario.

I Actually think he's dead for sure, a lot of fans blamed him for the two fake deaths (Gajeel & Juvia) i dont think he would do another one, so this must be the Death he talked about in this arc, and it's actually necessary for the growth of fairy members.



i think he had the same death like vegeta did against majin buu, his body released all the energy he had.

This has to be the most unforseen and anti-climatic deaths I've ever read in manga. There was no buildup, no...anything. I doubt anybody here was even thinking about Makarov before today. It's a shame because this could have been so much better.

Official scans always come out on Tuesday. These early chapters are because the chapter gets leaked by someone from Kodansha. The guy who receives the spoilers - YonkouProductions - has recently started scanlating the chapter on Fridays / Saturdays.

Yeah, he definitely loves RPGs. IIRC, Fire Embled, a JRPG, is one of his favourite games.

Very skeptical of his death since recently the manga has been constantly been trolling deaths everywhere.
