Makarov's sacrifice seemed really forced especially when Mavis said she had a plan to escape. Also wtf is with that assumption that Mavis doesn't care about the FT members. Old geezer basically forced himself onto the chopping board.

Mavis became immortal because it was a forbidden spell in its incomplete form. This is a use of the complete form. He's dead.

Hope Makarov stays dead, he looks dead, don't think Wendy can save him too, also he should've died in Tenrou, but this was unexpected. Well after chapter 501 things got more interesting, hope Mashima keeps up the pace like this.
