Fairy Tail Chapter 500 Discussion

Some people just want to see Juvia  dead or what?

People want actual fucking consequences for SOMETHING.

Tartaros was great because the things that happened there ACTUALLY mattered. Even one of the worst arcs of all time, Grand Magic Games, had some consequences.

This so far is utterly devoid of ANYTHING even remotely seeming as consequence.

At the same time, there's no gravitas or any sort of threat in terms of villains. Them causing a death is one of many ways that could have helped the viewer to take the situation seriously. Alas, the small squabble at the start of the manga with Gajeel's old fodder guild or even the train  events with Eregor have more weight and seriousness than this whole arc.

Even the laughably bad Eclipse Celestial spriits filler arc in anime had more believable and dangerous villains.

Fuck the haters, Juvia dying would've ruined the chapter. Also, people should be taking into consideration that Juvia was saved in 1 chapter through non-BS. Had he "taken more chapters" he would've used some BS or let her die and that would've honestly ruined a large portion of the manga for me. Gruvia needs to happen.

It's still BS cause the chain broke, suggesting that Juvia did die.

So a semi-major character dying in a "war" arc would ruin a manga for you?

You should stick to Shoujou LMAOIt broke because Grey died. Yeah, in Fairy Tail, a manga that doesn't kill main characters, that would be bad.

You don't die and come back LMAO. If you're dead, you dead, as simple as that. Or else Zeref wouldn't have gone through all that trouble, Jellal would'nt build the Tower of heaven etc

He was almost dead.

Let me explain how last week's chapter would've made sense:

- Both stab

- Grey lost  consciousness

- Juvia performs the blood transfusion

- Juvia dies

- Chain breaks

- Grey wakes up and wonders how he's alive

- Grey feels Juvia's emotions through blood transfer (BS)

This is the only scenario where chain break makes SENSE

Everything happened in Grey point of view, so 3 points happen without him knowing, 2  happens off screen

Face it, Juvia still being alive makes ZERO sense

Lmao, I still think its hilarious that people cried last chapter over Juvia crying LOL. Like we all said she'd be alive and back in 1 chapter. Not to mention she didn't die... yeah ok.

I liked how they finally put the reveal at the end. Neinhart gets his asswhipped with one punch K.O. Mashima didn't even use the character effeciently by using his historia with the new enchantment on him to only be fodder to Natsu. Also Invel was supposed to be this crazy strong character and yet he turned out to be an expositional character for Grey to learn of E.N.D. Hopefully Invel is not out of the fight, and jesus christ if they talk about how they can beat FT in seconds then just fucking do it already. They have been saying this forever -_-. Isn't this supposed to be a war... lol?

I can't wait to see the other "Dragneel" spriggan in action only to become fodder to Natsu as well.

Also another user brought up a great point, why did the Ice Chain break if Juvia was still alive? Invel himself said it won't break until one of them is dead -_-, plot hole plx? There is no point for Mashima to kill off characters just to bring them back and then create a plot hole with it. It would be better if he just did not do it for the millionth time, since its predictable and know whats going to happen yet we still have these idiots crying over deaths because the "feels" when its the most shallow bullshit ever, since you know whats going to happen. It makes me believe these people can't follow patterns or are simply brain dead to an extent -_-.

OMG this is one of the best chapters (in my opinion) that I've ever read. The only part I disliked was Juvia coming back just like we all predicted and it was because of Wendy of all people! A bit of a disappointment there, but the best part was Gray finally getting to know who END really was, that was pretty good.

Thumbs up for this one!

Alright, I'm going to be honest (Sorry people who ship these two)

But..  I'm disappointed that Juvia didn't die.  I believe she should of stayed dead.  The whole point of her dying was to make Gray reach his peak in power (through anger) and leave an impact on everyone, making everyone think that she was...  Actually dead.  Leaving her dead would of been a more understandable outcome than what happened.  And if she remained dead, it wouldn't make me think "Oh, she's a main character.  She can't die.  She will never die.  Because plot.  Totally.  No fear in whatever happens to the character(s)."

In my honest opinion, thinking that is so dissapointing knowing that no real suffering can happen in the story to the main characters in terms of their death.  There is no death.  They never die.  They will thus never lose.  Hell, they won't even make it look like they will lose.  Through the power of friendship and being a main character they will win and never die.  It kind of pisses me off.

TL;DR

I wish there was actual death so readers could be scared of who could die in the current arc.  Oh you know, because its a WAR.  And so it could leave oh you know...  A REAL and IMPORTANT impact.

This was almost as bad as in the anime when Wendy was about to die because of FACE's self destruction and went through like 5 minutes of soppy flashbacks only to be saved by what's his bolt and having that whole scene not matter at all.  Being a waste of time.

Rant over.  Continue.

I admit that chart made me laugh.

Can't rate the chapter. 0/5 is not available

everything was terrible and predictable

- Juvia resurrected - check

- Gray oneshoting Invel - check

- Natsu oneshoting someone whose name I don't even remember with nakama power - check

- Invel telling Gray something we have been knowing for month - check

- boobs - check

You're welcome :P.

Now why am I being tempted to lower my rating even more...is it because Gray got a free power-up :l

POF is involved in every fight. It isn't a powerup. more of a boost of emotions.
