Yes, Gray instead just magically becomes as powerful as other MCs without even a reason presented.

To be fair, random power-ups are par for the course, and Gray is probably one of the tamest offenders (see also Natsu deciding that he knows how to DF at will and Erza just being so much better than everyone that even after 7 yrs she's still pretty much on top w/o Second Origin).  Doesn't make it right, but...yeah.

Yes, he magically avoided consequences by...going to see his doctor when things went wrong.  You know, that thing they did with Minerva that you seemed to have no problem with.  



Honestly I'm just glad that Mashima had a character seek help when the side effects started to show rather than just keep to himself (I'd say see Laxus, but to be fair Poryluscia said take the blood and he did, he probably figured she didn't know any other cures.  Plus he had a plan for it and apparently did talk to Freed about it, so I give him a pass.).  I just wish he told Juvia before he left.

Yeah, that was dumb.  Pretty sure no one will argue that that made sense/was good writing.  Fairy Tail as a whole is weird about forgiveness (see also, Lucy forgiving Minerva for brutalizing her in a sporting event for no reason), and I guarantee you once Mest shows back up Brandish isn't gonna do shit to him, but this was just...



Seriously, for me that was the absolute worst part of the Avatar arc.  Shitty villains, Natsu one-shotting a god and the totally not-obvious double agent twist I could live with, but that was just flat-out dumb.  It did nothing for either character.  It made Gray look like an asshole, Juvia like a doormat and worst of all, nothing came of it.  Just...why?

Gotta be on topic, and so far I'm going to enjoy seeing Gray get more spotlight in this arc and chance to shine for the upcoming chapters.

But yeah, the chapter was nothing, I HATE how Spriggans are finding it difficult to one shot Elfman, Lissana, Base Rouge, Minerva etc. Jacob should just clap and one shot Mir but plot is stopping him from doing so.



Hiro should stop this and go write something like Highschool of dead lol, he's trash in any other aspect



1) the historia spriggans are said to be weaker than the original

2) we don't know how strong they've got in the timeskip just look at jellal.......in the previous timeskip people put him around laxus' level........ then after timeskip he's oneshotting spriggans with a basic spell which easily propels him a tier from laxus, who needed to give more power in his most powerful spell to date(his red lightning was actually tanked at first)

what eileen said was that since the historia spriggans are no match for erza(historia spriggans were weaker than original) she ordered neinhart to use his own capabilities to take care of her..... example your mom wants the laundry done and asks you, then you say the the maid is busy cooking, she'll say you have two hands to it yourself.



also gildarts, and invel has never done/shown anything that even puts him close to irene or august.

Yep yeah I agree with you too @Fai. I mean why the heck would they revive the Spriggans back although they are not as strong, it still ruins the friggin moment. Fairy Tail was on the bad side at the Tartarus Arc or after the Eclipse arc. After this, everything else became really boring like hell!!!
