Fairy Tail Chapter 497 Discussion

Well this chapter was good, I really wanna know what is the relationship of eileen, erza and now NEINHART!!! WTF is that, where did it came from, and what's the meaning of what Eileen said to neinhart that he is the one to fight erza, what's his real magic, I want him to rise from the ranking of the spriggans.

Then that Invel page was so hype , YURA INVEL WOW

I loved this chapter. Mavis/Zeref moments are always amazing since we get to see the more emotional side of Zeref and just because we get to see more of my fav character Mavis. This is Fairy Tail so Eileen still might turn good after fighting with a Fairy Tail member, but hopefully this chapter has stopped people thinking she'll just randomly join Fairy Tails side and be the one to fight August. It seems like she doesn't care about Erza at all (obviously there's more to that) but now that we know Erza is going to fight Neinheart, who do you all think will be the one to actually fight Eileen? I still think the most likely candidate is Erza but now there's a chance it might be Jellal or someone else. Anyway the big thing this chapter was Invel at the end, he's savage. Walked right in and one-shotted Natsu, Lucy and Juvia as well as completely freezing all of Natsu's flames. The set up for his fight with Gray this chapter was perfect, I really enjoy it when an author immobilises all but one character and has that character fight on his own with super high stakes on the line, by far one of my favorite tropes. Can't wait to see how Gray powers up to take Invel down, this fight is gonna be awesome. Genuinely hyped for the next chapter.

The pain & suffering of Mavis. Irene wants Erza dead.

Not even Natsu's flame can melt Invel's Ice & Gray is getting cold as well.

I would be hyped for, Invel vs Gray, but all of the other spriggan fights have gone so far it hard to be excited.

Yes, Gray instead just magically becomes as powerful as other MCs without even a reason presented.

To be fair, random power-ups are par for the course, and Gray is probably one of the tamest offenders (see also Natsu deciding that he knows how to DF at will and Erza just being so much better than everyone that even after 7 yrs she's still pretty much on top w/o Second Origin).  Doesn't make it right, but...yeah.

Yes, he magically avoided consequences by...going to see his doctor when things went wrong.  You know, that thing they did with Minerva that you seemed to have no problem with.  



Honestly I'm just glad that Mashima had a character seek help when the side effects started to show rather than just keep to himself (I'd say see Laxus, but to be fair Poryluscia said take the blood and he did, he probably figured she didn't know any other cures.  Plus he had a plan for it and apparently did talk to Freed about it, so I give him a pass.).  I just wish he told Juvia before he left.

Yeah, that was dumb.  Pretty sure no one will argue that that made sense/was good writing.  Fairy Tail as a whole is weird about forgiveness (see also, Lucy forgiving Minerva for brutalizing her in a sporting event for no reason), and I guarantee you once Mest shows back up Brandish isn't gonna do shit to him, but this was just...



Seriously, for me that was the absolute worst part of the Avatar arc.  Shitty villains, Natsu one-shotting a god and the totally not-obvious double agent twist I could live with, but that was just flat-out dumb.  It did nothing for either character.  It made Gray look like an asshole, Juvia like a doormat and worst of all, nothing came of it.  Just...why?

I am negative about the shows that are bad and positive about the ones that are good. That is nature of critique. If you see more of negative comments that just means you are currently frequenting the boards of shows that are bad.



FT has been strongly on the bad side for quite a while now.
