Fairy Tail Chapter 496 Discussion

I don't get why people who complain about this Manga week after week. If you don't want to read it don't, no one is forcing you and no one cares if you do. Stop living in with this sad cycle of complaint it's really annoying. This wasn't the best chapter, but it set up for a lot of interesting fights that are to come and even helped explain how Minerva and Rouge are going to take on Bradman and Wahl.



You guys are complaining that it was never mentioned that the Historias were weaker but all the ones we've seen so far were weaker to their living counter parts.

Its not just that. The whole power scale in fairy tail is so unbalanced and a clusterfuck of madness. I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly natsu all the sudden got some crazy BS friendship power up and ended up defeating the strongest sprigan 12. Also it was clearly indicated that these sprigan 12 were on a completely different level and the more i see the narrative progress, its hiro mashima contradicts everything he's saying.



I'm just gonna answer that, but you can't tell until you fight said person to see what they're capable of, Makarov didn't met all of them. And that panel with Makarov proves that God Serena was strong, was , even Gildarts at the beginning of the chapter said if he were ALIVE things would probably be different. But he's not and Neinheart's historias are not as strong as their living counterparts.

Fairy Heart is in Mavis. Who is in the guild hall. The rest of the guild is charging towards there, but at the moment nothing stops the spriggans from just launching everything they have against those guild members, as their sheer power is supposed to be far superior to FT's.



Well it would help if their soldiers aren't there.

Jellal and Kagura weren't really injured. So is Gray, Lyon, Meredy & Juvia.



What does it change? Jellal curbstomped Neinhart. Kagura one-shotted Simon. Gray and Lyon were only held back emotionally otherwise they would've dealt with Ur easily. Laxus, Erza and Wendy were heavily injured from their previous fights. Meredy and Juvia is the only debatable case.



Neinhart is one of the weakest Spriggans. If you have a strong will and are in  (which most of the good guys in this manga do), you can deal with his Historia's pretty easily.



I was just correcting your statement on them being hurt. Either way, whether or not Neinhart is strong or weak is kinda subjective here. For starters, no one besides Erza overpower the Historia mentally. And Neinhart survived a direct attack from Jellal. Plus he conjured three Spriggan at the same time. His feat is still there as unimpressive as it stands.

Sorry if that came off as rude, but it´s just uncommon for you to defend FT to this extend and this rumor is a red flag to me. It´s the most overused excue of  the fandom to justify this arc , but it´s wrong to begin with and even it was true, the Editor´s mistake wouldn´t excuse it´s terrible execution in comparision to the  recourses Mashima Sensei has been given. 8 of the Spriggans have been outright awful, the pacing of the Arc is terrible due to consistent sidetracking and instead of respecting his most anticipated most buildup villain of the story and give him a proper arc with plentyful  screentime, he brings him down by surrounding him with an army of clowns.



This arc moves towards iredeemable status depending on the execution of Zeref which I still have hopes for, but the Spriggans can rightfully considered garbage tier villains, without maybe the 4 "main ones".

I wanna know what happened to Sting, hope we find out soon

I honestly have no idea why people are surprised that Gildarts One-shotted God Serena. Gildarts even states that hes just "small fry" as he is not at his full power.



Even so, I still think Gildarts should destroy Serena if they are both at full power, he is supposed to be the powerhouse of Fairy tail, and we have never actually seen Gildarts go all out in a fight ever.



We saw him against Natsu on Tenrou Island pretty much showing the gap between the two back then. Since then he has only been getting stronger.



Still sort of a messy chapter Imo..
