Fairy Tail Chapter 490 Discussion

I`m really disappointed that after all those weeks of countdown, this is the result. I expected something actually interesting, or meaningful for the characters.

I don't remember the manga saying that demons don't have emotions. But Mard himself stated that he has emotions and he tries his best to keep them checked. Mard,Kyoka and Sayla showed a lot a emotions (+ve emotions) as well. So did the rest of the demons.



You should read the Manga, the Anime took alot of liberties. I was angry too when I saw the developments, because I liked their childhood relationship, the fact that Mira got a backstory and Happy´s origin, but it´s  less emotional in the manga, because told in different order and context.



They say it quite often, I´m currently watching the Tartaros arc in the Anime.

Reread the arc and reevaluate, they mention, often how the only thing they live for is their duty.

Mashima sensei just can't help himself bringing gajeel back.. eileen magic was freaking awesome.. zeref and mavis in same place mean no good.. natsu probably gonna fight eileen since he is near the castle(probably )..and tf zera was there.. how and why he was with gajeel tho.. or maybe gajeel really is dead and meet zera somewhere in heaven lol

However, he also thinks this chapter is pretty meh.



Anyways, on to the chapter.



Meh chapter is meh, Universe One looked cool and all but I have a feeling it was used as a convenient plot device to get certain characters together. Hoping Zeref just grabs Mavis and ends this 'war' already.



That part with Natsu and Lucy was so disgusting. Just stop already, Mashima. That's not romantic at all.



Worst part of this chapter was Gajeel and Zera coming back. The end was a cliffhanger so I'm hoping they're actually in a different dimension and not dead.



Quite disappointing for a countdown end. But considering what we've got this arc, why was I expecting something good?

Well to be fair it's not like you saw him get killed like Igneel, he was sucked in by that thing, his body marely vanished. And we all knew he would come back.

So, is Gajeel really back, or is this afterlife kind of world? And what's Zera doing there?

For the final chapter in the countdown this chapter was... underwhelming
