by the way, putting Zeref aside, did natsu ever get serious in a fight after the one year training ? i mean going all out and using his spells and flame lightning mode or even dragon force ? i hope we get to see that against august who's a formidable opponent and leaving END for zeref / Acnologia

Crazy chapter. So Gajeel died, but we all know he will come back somehow. Maybe the Celestial Spirit King goes to the underworld to save him (considering his former beef with the underworld) and transfers him to the spirit world where he becomes a key for Lucy; we all know some stupid loophole like this is going to happen lol.



I have to give it to Mest actually doing the right thing. I mean its a freaking war and now Brandish is team Fairy Tail through the power of friendship and she was going to do the same thing to August. Mest was smart on not taking ANY chances whatsoever. August could have been bluffing for all they know. Also they are all pissed at him for making a smart move, but when they do some dumb shit all the time its because they did it for their nakama's and no one can question it. Double standard much?



Either way I can't wait for this countdown to be over to see if END really does show up. I want to see Irene and Acno fight too, but we all know she is going to get killed by him. The rightful fight will between Zeref, Natsu/END, and Acno at the end.

This is one of those moments where actually having Gajeel dead/disappeared/whatever would actually make for an amazing chapter but the fact that people aren't killed off in this manga makes this chapter lose any impact.

He did it way back in Rave, and looking at it, makes sense (if Gajeel stays dead), why he did it this way. To explain, we have the 4 big pairings in FT, Natsu x Lucy, Gray x Juvia, Jellal x Erza and Gajeel x Levy.



- Natsu x Lucy, main characters, obviously they'll be fine;

- Gray x Juvia, they were the other canditates (in my opinion), but in Rave he already killed off a woman who loved this man (they both resembled Gray and Juvia, tho their relationship was different);

- Jellal x Erza, Jellal is Mashima's favorite character (probably), but he literally looks and sorta acts (now) like Sieg from Rave (Sieg's hair was bigger in Rave tho..);

- Gajeel x Levy, chapter 488 happened :/, there's a 50/50 chance he could come back, but point is he did the same thing in Rave (as mentioned in the Gray x Juvia section), but he killed the male here.



Hiro Mashima paid already homage to Musica and Reina.









100%, not 99 Gajeel is not dead, if he´s dead he will be ressurected.

Gray is a main character, but if the pattern of his life holds up we already know juvia won't make it to the finale



In my opinion Gajeel is alive in the underworld, but he may as well miss the rest of FT manga or appear at the end
Maybe Hiro did this as a set up for the Light Novel, and Gajeel and Levy twins are going to save him from the underworld, i mean if not what reason would Hiro have to drop an "image of the twins"

You do realize there is a very simple solution to allow those kids to exist. Gajeel knocked Levy up the night before war

i know everyone thinks gajeel is dead but what if Irene's magic is what will bring him back. i know that seems far fetched, but what if(going on what we've seen) when she turned the snowy area into a field of flowers, she concentrated the magic particles in the air into a form of life energy and heat, a "renewal" of sorts for the landscape. what if she could re-concentrate his particles for some reason? also can't levy do something with that, cause in the fairy tail universe, magic script is supposed to be pretty strong because its so adaptable and its strength is also magnified by its users power and the particles in the air(unlike the dragonslayers, who for some reason only gain power when they dragon-force or learn a new teq) can't she write something like "undo" for gajeel...not necessarily that but you all get what i mean
