The whole concept of Jacob is a paradox. While his concept isn´t mutually exclusive to an actual assasin,the popularized theme of assasins are stealth precision, swiftness and competence, which he had none of. Technically he could be considered an Assasin in the classical sense (a terrible one though), since the origin doesn´t specify  on the method of the killing.

Anyway judging that Hiro didn´t intend to capture the reallife counterpart of an assasin but tried to rewrite the pop culture version he fucked up.

He was just a walking nuke, a terribly flawed one at that, with a self destruct button attached to him. In form of his weakness towards women. This guy would be fucked if he´d be in any Harem series, he´d die because of a heart attack.

Regarding Dimaria, didn´t care much for her. When her abilities got revealed I already knew she wouldn´t be of any value and get somehow oneshotted.

If you wanna actually read about competent usage of a time manipulation ability I´d recommend you Jojo´s part 6. It has one of the most creative ideas in Shounen abilities I´ve witnessed till today.

Honestly there isn´t much to discuss, it was just more of the same.

I´d given this chapter a 3 for FT standards, but similar to last weeks Charla and Wendy plot there were some things that actively annoyed me in this weeks chapter.



First and foremost the Erza Kagura kiss. I enjoy it when something actually comedic comes out of a situation like this, but this clearly was not the case. The intention was to appeal towards the  readers Libido. And those who claim that it wasn´t clearly lie to their boners. Apparently those people watch porn for the plot!



The other issue was Dimaria. I don´t care about this character at all and shoving her into the panels to make her say nothing is pointless. Is this foreshadowing?

Will she get freed? What´s her relationship with Brandish? Am I supposed to be aroused because her close are torn? WHY WAS SHE IN THIS CHAPTER?



Everything else I summed up in my prediction. The one wildcard is Irene.

She gave me heavy Reina vibes this chapter and I won´t make any predictions on her, besides that she´s somehow related to Erza which everyone knows by now.



On the plus side, it was interesting to see Sting humiliated. Yes you are a bitch!

Also I liked that Jellal kept fighting, instead of being out of comission because he´s exhausted, or what I call the Laxus trolling. A tool Hiro Mashima loves to use in order to put Natsu into the spotlight.



Hey we got Laxus. Nevermind, he´s out! Natsu pull some power up out of your ass! Alternatively it can be used on Gildarts, Mirajane and occasionally even on Erza.

So Kagura kissed Erza, so that was pointness, Hiro just did that for fan service, coming up with new ones for pointless fan service every chapter, give Hiro some credit for that. So we won the south, and speaking of pointless sense what was the point of showing Dimaria captured like that, was that more type of fan service. I don't know how we are suppose to feel seeing some helpless and tearing up like that especially a female character that something you do for a good guy character, not a villain. So Brandish is going to try to negotiate with August, this sounds like a big mistake, Brandish is just going to be captured by Alvarez and imprisioned as a traitor. I guess that is a way to get her out of the story.



So we see Irene with two of her subordinates, the way I see if she is Erza's mother, I get the idea she was forced to abandon her, I don't think it is like Ur in which she was tricked into giving up Ultear, I be very angry if they did that again, but I think if Erza is her Ultear, than Hynye and Juliet are her Gray and Lyon. Her substitute kids to make up for the lose of her biological kid, only this time the gender if not changed. We don't know nothing about these characters, but I like the idea of Irene have some kind of a motherly relationship with these girls. This also reminds me of something from Rave Master with Relena and her subordinates. I think for sure Hiro is doing another version of that.



I could be a mixture of Relena and Ur with Irene's characters. Here is my theory on Irene and Erza separation, Irene was chased out of Ishgar, she left Erza in the Rosemary village to keep her safe and hide out, what ever noble or royal family the Belserion  are, someone wanted them dead or wanted them captured in Ishgar. Could it have been the council, some other noble family, or here is what I am guessing, Brain. In the anime, we find out he was looking for people to be his link for the Oracion Seis, one of the candidates was Ultear, maybe even before that, Erza was one of his candidates.



So we finally get the name of all 12 Spriggen, the final one is Rahkeid and he looks like the grim reaper, can't wait to see him in the flesh.



Pretty an informative chapter, fun for speculation, but not much happened. Next chapter something do with food

You're right. Rahkeid is the last introduced Spriggan.

and Like I said...I hope that Gajeel and Co. will actually get their Asses handed to them...that would be very nice surprise...and truly show the Hype that these 12 are supposed to show.







Even if Irene actually proves to be good, that will not redeem the other Spriggans.

Yeah agree on that...but we haven't yet seen these other 6 or even how August fights? Others may have been sucked but let's say that we will see how 6 will fight and then say if the hype building for them was useless because they did not succeed the otherwise.

Actually there's only five left.  August, Invel and the Northern Forces, unless you're counting Brandish.
