This was really funny. If Mashima's not gonna get serious like Tartaros, I'll take this kind of chapter, instead of him trying to be serious but the enemy still gets one-shotted regardless. No in-betweens here. Here's to hoping Mavis' idea to beat Zeref is awaken the inner lolicon in him.

Lmao. Not that I expect much from this spriggan but I didn't expect him to be this bad.

Still wondering how did he erase the entire guild if his power is invisibility.

I'm not even bothered by fanservice, but the stripping girls to embarrass them in a fight thing is really starting to grate on me. It was tiresome by the the Games arc and it was downright annoying by the last few chapters, now I'm just sick of it.

It's like he can't think of a more creative way to disable female characters.

Considering what Laxus and Chelia went through to defeat their enemies (not because Dimaria and Wahl 100% lived up to their potential- just because Laxus got to fight a little smart and Chelia made her sacrifice),  I'm willing to let Jacob being a loser go. To be fair, it would be hard to top the demons of Tartaros entirely.

There can't be enough facepalms for this chapter.

Even filler Celestial Spirits in FT anime filler felt more of a threat than Spriggans now. I miss Tartaros Demon Gates already...

And of COURSE Lucy would get naked. That seems to be her only purpose in the story now.

And OF COURSE a spriggan would fail in a silly shitty way that screams plot contrivance.

2/5

Did you miss his comment about damaging the guild?

You  mean the guy who always blew up the guild for FUN acting out of character for plot reasons?

It was a pretty funny chapter, but it felt more like an omake rather than an official / canon one.

I think Mashima doesn't really know what to do with this arc anymore, because it has been all over the place, especially in the fights department. Except Natsu's fight with Zeref, which felt at times a little bit like it was made by Micheal Bay, every single fight was disappointing. Wahl had such great potential as a huge powerhouse enemy, but he was made a fool of, same with Dimaria who even though had a clichee personality, at least had interesting abilities.

Because this arc is inconsistent. Up to the 465(that was one of the best chapters in the series) it was slow  building but it was needed. After 465 this arc has been all over the place. Spriggan hype going down. Mixture of comedy and urgency all over the place.. Well there isn't any urgency. Unnecessary fanservice. The war arc doesn't feel like a war. Just two guilds fighting but it's not really tense. Unnecessary 3rd origin and plot cancer.

Brandish was inconsistent as hell. Seems that Mashima made her to defect to Fairy Tail even though she hasn't yet but it's coming. Probably the worst character in this arc.

Also this isn't criticism but Mavis has been getting shown up by Zeref this entire arc and she herself has yet to do anything about it

Honestly curious about what Mavis could have possibly come up with to defeat Zeref based on the events of this chapter. Other than a silly fight so far with Jacob and his silly pervy technique, not much happened besides Natsu and Lucy using it against him.

There´s your answer!

As sad it is, thats most likely it....

Seems like one of the goofier villains so far in this manga.

That's...quite the weakness.

Gotta love how Natsu acknowledges that she wears lots of skimpy outfits
