The loss of magic power IS pointless and doesn't make any sense. It's just to mask the asspull for idiots.

Hiro actually said on a page of the Volume 52 that there's a reason behind there being 12 Spriggans instead of 5 or 6 and he even said the editor argued with him about that number being way too much.



I dont know how to react to that, one way is me thinking "whelp, then I guess only 4 or 5 Spriggans are actually going to be something, the rest are fodders".



Other way is that all of the Spriggans are still alive and are going to be relevant to something later on.



Overall I don't know about how to feel with those fights, not sure if Hiro really changed his style of fights or he's doing it on purpose only to make the Spriggans return later on.

I mean, even if you say that all of the Spriggans fight so far have been logic, they still felt way too underwhelming comparing to fights of previous arcs and judging by the Spriggans reputation alone they should be having fights much more epic.



To be honest any hype I've had for the Spriggans fight died on this one, I don't really look foward to Neinhart fight even though we have Jellal,Erza and Kagura against him, I only look foward to his personality.

hoped she stayed as an older version of Cheria. Like she was cool at that moment.

chapter was well done imo. having cheria and ultear go behind wendys back and have the god slayer defeat the god is fitting and keeps wendy in the game. my only gripe is the short fights but im sure theyll drag them out in the anime 5/5

Glad Wendy wasn't the one to lose her powers, and she bravely fought to the best of her ability (First time I saw Dragon Force be completely useless in a fight since the Twin Dragon Fight).



Pretty painful to see Wendy of all people though get shot through the leg and obtain wounds like that. Guess that's what happens with her fighting on the front lines now. Since Wendy wasn't the one to win this fight and she kept her powers, she'll probably face off against another opponent later in this arc.



Cherria's full god slayer powers were impressive and it was great we could finally see them up against an actual god. Even though I'm sad she's losing her magic because of Third Origin, I'm at least glad she lived. Looks like Ultear is still alive as an old woman out there, wonder if that will be the last time we see her.



Looking forward to see what happens next, since if I remember right Zeref is closing in on Fairy Tail, and Acnologia is somewhere close.

Yeah but there were also hints that Jura wasn't really serious, like when he said he would root for Fairy Tail to Makarov and when he got beaten while smiling.
