Looks like Marin is going to free Brandish, huh. Hell is gonna go loose when she is free.
It seems like all of them are ready to tackle the Spriggans, though I wonder from where each Spriggan are coming from? All we know is that Wahl and Dimaria are in the south and Invel is with Zeref in the west.
Also, Natsu vs Zeref seems far-fetched. Most likely, there will be some interruptions like Natsu fighting one of the Spriggans. I am also thinking when Acno will show up :3.
Most of the time, Acnologia play with the humans before the ending of the war (tenroujima and tartaros )/arc. So for me he will not show up right now
Because if he will show right now, there wil be tons of casualties even if the war is just starting.

For a war tactician Mavis is kind of dumb, she wants Fairy Tail to fight Alvarez alone, that is crazy. Is this all because of Fairy Heart, is that secret that important to them?
Brandish does look hot, it must be weird for Lucy to be on the other end of this, normally it is the other way around, which is why enemy or not, Lucy did not like what those two old perverts wanted to, she has been there, how many times. Brandish is defiant, she is not going to give the info on Lucy's mom, I don't know why. And if Marin is going to try to pull something, I think he is going to fail this time, they should be ready.
We have our teams, in the North we have Sabertooth, Blue Pegasus, and a team of Gajeel, Levy, Mirajane, Elfman, and Lisanna. My thoughts, well you have three dragons together, thank goodness Lisanna got a new hair due, or else her and Yukino in the same place that would be confusing, Mira and Yukino united again that is cool, as well as Mira reuniting her rivalry with Jenny, I still wonder if Mira and Minerva being in the same place what effect will that have with Seilah's oul inside soul, well Seilah explode with rage? And where is Sherry, I assumed she married Ren right? Maybe she is pregnant and that is why she is sitting this one out.
We have in the South, Lamia Scale, Mermaid Heel, and a team of Gray, Juvia, Lexus, Wendy, and originally Natsu who went MIA and replaced with Erza. Well great to see Gray and Lyon together again, Wendy gets to see Chelia again, something tells me Wendy is more excited about her reunion than Gray is, I think Erza to go on this mission, this is just like at the end of the GMG arc, but if history is any indication, I guess this is where Crime Sorciere at least the part that Jellal part of it will show up. I wonder if we are going to see any Lyon x Millianna which was hinted in the anime.
In the East, we have the Wizard Saints, and Mavis is sending no body there to help them, I guess this is where Gildarts finally shows up.
I knew when Natsu went missing, that he was going to do something stupid like go fight Zeref right now. I don't know who is more crazy Natsu or Erza.
I hope Crime Sorciere they split up their forces. We know Jellal will show up in the South to help Erza, and probably Merody as well, because she has her friendship with Juvia, but I hope another faction shows up in the North and Angel or Solano is part of that, so she and Yukino can finally unite.
Anyway great chapter, set things up nicely, I am so excited to see what happens next.

This is really unlikely.
Let´s take a look at other Shounen.
First and foremost Dragon Ball the godfather.
Always used the 1vs1 formula, I think Vegeta vs Earth was the only team effort that actually worked. Whenever they teamed up during other battles it was to buy time for a huge attack or for the main fighter to buy time.
In the end it ended with a 1vs 1 brawl even till the last arc.
One Piece pretty much the same 1vs1 brawls period.
Bleach forces even against the most broken of enemies 1vs1s.
The only exception within big Shounen is Naruto where teamwork was required for the final villains and went beyond people tagging in temporarily.
However this was never the case with lower tier enemies that still were frightening.
Anyway although friendship is, teamwork was never a prevalent theme in Fairy tail, Natsu even throws Gajeel to into a hole for the sake of showing off.
I really doubt Hiro will do that and Zeref is build up to be a duell against Natsu.

Although it feels like Hiro wants to treat this arc much more serious than any other before, sure we will still have fanservices, but we got so many plots involved in this arc that I don't even know how this can't be the final one, so far we have,

Mavis
Fairy Heart
Ishigar Kings
Layla
E.N.D
and even minor things like Gray respoding to Juvia, if this wasn't FT, that's a deathflag a right there.
But thinking about it for real, we all know the results in the end with big shounem animes, they rarely have some very good/awesome/satisfying ending, which is why I care more about the character development in these kind of animes, it's pretty certain that we're going to get some bs fights even with the S12 but I really wonder if Hiro will treat them differently and actually give them good character development or they will just be villains to never be remembered again.

No, because the very rules of narrative already tell us that what Natsu did at the end is completely pointless. The whole exchange is pointless because Natsu WILL lose, and all that we can hope for is some sort of new information about Zeref and him or something.
Also because it feels very much like a rehash of Tartaros where Natsu also rushed into the base only to get oneshotted by Silver.
Also because it presents the possibility of typical "rescue arc" where FT Guild has to travel to Zeref's location to free Natsu as Mashima's cop out from showing actual large scale war with consequences going on.
I'd rather they focus on w hat is actually interesting(The actual war, Lucy's backstory, etc) than on an obligatory "one loss per arc" for Natsu thing.
See that's your problem. You're not looking at it from HIS perspective. You're looking at this from a metaknowledge point of view.
Zeref is in charge of the enemy. Zeref has the deathwave that can kill anyone except Natsu on the first try since he has the scarf. Going for the head of the snake makes perfect sense from Natsu's perspective especially given his bandaged one time move.
What is Natsu's primary directive? How is that directive best achieved if you only knew what he knew?
The answer to these questions is exactly what he did.
Just because it makes sense character-wise, does not mean it is good for the story or is promising for the future developments.
Erza defeating every single opponent because She's Erza is also perfectly in character for Erza. Does not make it a good direction.
I have no problems with how in character it is. I have problems with where in the story it leads and the ultimate futility of it.
Not to mention the lack of any threat, because obviously they will not just off Natsu and obviously he will lose. Literally the only hope for it is some sort of backstory revelation/development for Zeref/Natsu thing.
Which is likely what will happen if not the big awakening as End and the subsequent trashing of Gray and others.
