Just because it's the authors intention, doesn't change the fact that it's shit.

That is why he releases 2 chapters at once, so that he can get to the good stuff quickly(like he did with Avatar arc..which he made up for through chapter 436). He intentionally does this to calm the atmosphere and cause a transition (he knew that Tartarus was depressing so he dropped the intensity with happy-go-lucky Avatar/reunion arc.. he has said so in the afterword of vol. 48/49).

I am sorry but not buying that.

Start of Avatar arc was tense and great. And then something happened. I still firmly believe mashima grew fearful of Gray fanbois and had to change his plans for that arc hence ridiculously shitty ending and Gray whitewashing.

His argument was not it´s shit, his argument was the author rewrites it for the sake of fanboys, furthermore its confusing that you´ve got FT in your favorites and always complain about it.

I think everyone over hyped these guys too much. Here's an interesting post from Reddit:

"If anything it was Makarov that hyped them up.

Makarov only had reputation to base his fears off and he was unaware of all the progress Natsu and the others had made training. "

I kinda agree with him. The only one who could.explain who they were was Makarov which of course included his bias. He only briefly saw what Lucy and Gray could do but not the others. And while they still lost, I saw it as because their primary goal was to escape not fight. Also Makarov has emphasized time and time again how he 'loved the brats', so of course he's going to over hype them so that Fairy tail could stay away.

But~ that's just the way I see it.

Anyways I like Lucy's optimism, we caught her even though it was a fluke. The Freed and Ichiya team up was cool and Bixlow's pun (He stole our thunder) made it even better...at least for me.

Except that its not just Makarov's Hype that we're going off of. From what we know, the Alvarez Empire has been a force that Ishgal has been afraid for years and the only things that was stopping Alvarez from coming over and massacring them were Etherion and Face.

The 4 Gods of Ishgal (minus God Serena) even noted that each of the Twelve were equal to him in power, meaning that Ishgal's top Wizards are inferior to the Spriggan 12.

Considering the fact that its only been a single year since Makarov has last met his children, you can't blame him for believing they have no chance against them. Makarov made his assumptions based on what he saw of their powers during the GMG and Tartaros arc and compared that to the strength he witnessed sometime during his stay in Alvarez. Who could have honestly expected Fairy Tail to all get ridiculously more powerful in just a single year?

This isn't even mentioning the fact that these dudes have been personally selected by Zeref (who is God-Tier) as his bodyguards and has been preparing an army to combat Acnologia, a natural walking disaster who's on the same playing field as Zeref. If these guys are supposed to be Zeref's counterattack against him and they're being taken down this quickly, doesn't that mean Fairy Tail is at a level that can challenge Acnologia? I sure as hell don't buy that bull shit so Hiro is either trolling us with these Spriggan's or he completely screwed up his on Power Level consistency.

PRetty much all I had to say. This reeks of a trap

I know we don't know anything about Wāru Īhito but why some people even think that he's down already?

They literally beated him with brute force, there's no way you can take that serious, that's probably just another robot or something, I really don't buy not even a bit that he's out already, not to mention it was by Freed and Ichiya of all people, also "NYAH" is a really akward thing to come out of your mouth after being "defeated".

Previously Brandish said that the level of the 12 are all similar maybe August being the only exception but if one of them gets defeated like that, then we might not even need Gildarts here, Laxus and Jura can wipe them out WITH EASE, but the 3Gods of Ishigar wouldn't be that afraid if that was the case.

Franmalth was killed by a rock.  And Jackal's suicide attack couldn't even damage Happy.

Just like to remind you of that.
