Whatever the case it's truly a big twist, and Acnologia is beast indeed!

To be fair, most people in that universe, don't know the name of popular mages. Example Erza is known as Titania, and Gajeel is known as Kurogane Gajeel (black steel Gajeel), Natsu as Salamander and so on.

I don´t get how you can miss that.

He wanted to bring Natsu back to life, therefore kept the body from decomposing with magic.Zeref get´s expelled from university and really furious because he´s told that he cannot bring Natsu back. Zeref kills everyone in his vincinity.



He assumes that the gods did punish him because he tried to fuck with life.



Zeref brings Natsu back to life by transforming his body into a demon. Endowing him with as much black magic as possible.





Here comes my prediction. [b]Plottwist: Natsu wasn´t really dead, he was in a coma like state similar to Jellal, because Zeref infused him with dark energy his body went throug shock and revived. The real culprit is the "entity" who tried to corrupt Rogue, Zeref was just a succesful case and Rogue a failure. Since ancient times this "shadow" corrupts people for "reasons". He saw Zerefs love towards his little brother and his hidden potential for evil. "The bigger the loss" the more the shadow can feed on him.



Coming back to say called that shit yet again when it happens.
