OT:

My initial impression of the chapter was "GRAY TANKED THAT SHIT!"

It still remains, but oh man. I'm soooo happy this fight is over and done with. I really want to see how this whole END business develops. It's odd, because Mashima's fight scenes feel long winded and yet rushed at the same time.

Well you probably had a lot of work deleting the comments and iam sorry for it

Alright, this is the first time I'm ever commenting in a forum in this website and i will try to end all controversies up till this arc...since only few of us are using our logic

1. Grays OPedness- I don't really consider gray OP at all. From what I've understood, silver ate a lot of demons before his encounter with gray which clearly shows how powerful and hyped up he was  when he first showed up. He had ice devil slaying ability and most probably got more out of the demons he ate which shows gray had received more abilities other than ice demon slaying.(vs tempesta) He is already experienced with ice, so he uses that creativity with demon slaying moves too, most probably. And silver deliberately wanted to be defeated from the looks of it...if not, even natsu could have kicked his ass. From what he has supposedly inherited, gray now bears a grudge against demons after defeating his strong but emotionally defenseless father in that battle. And there is just a bit of this art that he's gotta master remembering he has ice creativity and has seen silver use a bit from his arsenal.

Natsu's issue- You can't hate natsu, simply never. He is one of those shounen characters with amazing physical and VERBAL capacity. If you are logical enough, you might expect igneel to tweak natsu's dragon slaying power while he was still inlside him. He might have controlled how much magical power he releases during a fight. Considering those moments when natsu OHKOs opponents it might be igneel releasing more power for natsu feeling sympathized for his anger. Now, for a moment let us assume END is somebody else(I already anticipate natsu is end). Igneel said that natsu is capable of defeating end (Now you know how strong he really is but here I might not be accurate enough). Look at the latest fight with Mard, natsu had lost so much temper he went DF now that igneel is no longer inside him. Being a dragon slayer defeating tough opponents seems easy excluding the 2Gs(same thing might have happened with sting and rogue...I don't think their dragons are dead). So him OHKOing opponents in the past is justified and that ain't any nakama power up.( Everyone knows just his strong dragons are, don't they?)

Erza- A badass. Apparently the only one using nakama power up in an excessive way that you want to call it BS. Also, she is the only one to have asspulls. PS can anyone remind me of lector and Lily's logic (vs kyouka).

Natsu and Gray vs Mard Geer- First of all this was one the most amazing fights in FT.  It went on well till the very end. When memento mori was used, gray managed to absorb it due to his DmS power (If natsu can absorb lightning, why can't gray absorb this?) Although its early for gray to walk along this lane, I must say memento mori  enhanced his powers to deliver that finishing blow.(Also seeing he was demonified). Natsu's rage had also increased due to which he managed to go dragon force and use that CLPS move that we HAVE SEEN before although he ran out of magic right at a moment..., thereby becoming a decoy for gray. A perfect battle full of teamwork and belief upon their partners. NO NAKAMA power ups.

Lastly, there hasn't been any nakama power up in this arc (not even in saber's fight) except in Ezra's parts. Every thing up till now is logical. I know hiro's storytelling skills ad they are amazing and unpredictable.

So, for some fans and all the haters, YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN FAIRY TAIL CAUSE YOU GUYS DON'T USE YOUR BRAINS TO DEVELOP LOGIC AND YOU WILL KEEP CALLING EVERYTHING IN THE SERIES BS IF YOU SEE IT FROM A PESSIMISTIC POINT OF VIEW AND AGREE WITH EVERYTHING BAD THAT FORNEVERWORLD SAYS(i  know he is not a perfect reviewer)SO IF YOU REALLY WANT TO GO AHEAD WITH FT YOU MUST NOT ASK FOR LOGIC BUT DRAIN IT OUT BY YOURSELF IN THE HOPE THAT IT WILL BE EXPLAINED and for me FT doesn't really have over sized nakama power ups or asspulls Sorry I made this too long, but I have been forced to do it....

So Natsu and Gray survived Memento Mori. Both of which were unscathed enough to use their best moves... Even though they both also took on some Kyuukimon before that. Jee. Didn't see that one coming. Oh, also, the "convenient power up" card came into play with two different characters this week. I know I'm being awfully whiny about all of this ^, but there's a point when convenient stuff that happens EXCLUSIVELY for protagonists becomes so predictable that you really don't feel like there's anything at stake at all. I mean, come on. Who thought for one minute that either Gray or Natsu would be even incapacitated (they couldn't die, of course, and I'm cool with that) by that "ULTIMATE CURSE"? Cuz I didn't. And I don't think It's be too much guesswork from me to say that most other people who follow the series got same hunch, which totally kills the suspense for me. I'm not even that hopeful about E.N.D. With him being a fire demon and all, Natsu will probably pull some shenanigan like eating his flames and beating him to pulp (with no magic power left, but that hurdle is practically a joke by now).

I am going to get  so much hate for this. Oh, well. At least it's out of my system.

EDIT: About what the guy above me said. Generally speaking, if most of the time you have to "hope it will be explained", then the manga you are reading has very serious storytelling problems. There's a difference between series that use "figure it out for yourself with the logic we have provided" and Fairy Tail's "LOL IDK."

This was a great chapter. Natsu activating Dragon Force, making combo with Gray to kill Mard Geer, and we get to see next week continuation from Erza and Kyouka fight. I enjoyed it.

Also, I wanna add that it didn't seem like Natsu activated Dragon Force at will. Think about it, he went Dragon Force mode only after he thought Gray died, and before with Juvia vs Meredy we saw how emotions can increase their magic power. It is not that illogical at all. We know that Dragon Slayers need substances of high magical properties to enter Dragon Force mode. I am speaking strictly about first generation here, because second and third have lacrima in their body and we simply do not know enough about pure Dragon Slayer. So, say that in order to activate Dragon Force, they need a high ammount of Magic Power which they do not usually posses. So, after Natsu got angry at thought of Gray being dead, his power skyrocketed enough for him to achieve Dragon Force temporarily. Again, this do not hold water. This is just one of many possible theories.

i don't want to see erza vs kyouka again!
