I bet he didn't. Since Happy is sort of a cat and comes from different world where Cats where angel like creatures I get the feeling he has more than one life. Common saying says that cats have 9 lives ^^,

It was obvious from the beginning that Jackal vs Natsu was a mismatch in favor of Natsu.



But Happy surviving the explosion was kinda...
