The original saying is "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree"

That basically means that the child is like their parent.

But, Minerva is saying that she is not like her father at all, but still agrees with him on that one viewpoint.



Was there ever a doubt about it o_O? I thought it was a given from the first momment of her appearance.

Well, I wouldn't be surpirsed if from now on Hiro decided to wrap things up in a mere 100 chapters , though personally I expect it to be at least 250.

Prisoner Guard appears!!

Interesting chapter, we get to see what we already speculated chapters before about Minerva plotting something with Lecter/Sting, and we'll soon see the end result of Stings "power of feelings". Gajeel defeating both is now a little far-fetched considering this new 'boost', although I can't pair up Sting with no one now. I guess he'll either be wipping out winners (tired from last battle, like now going after gray), or beat Gajeel after Gajeel severly dmges him and destroys Rogue. It's interesting now that this Lector thing rly opens up a lot of character space for Sting, as mentioned before.



About the new characters, they look kewl, although I was a little unnerved by the fact new antagonists are being added inbetween fights I wanted to see so much on the tournament. Seems I'll have to wait a little more now for that to resolve. Nonetheless, I'm interested in what the wolves have to offer us.



I also think the princess is the one who'll time travel, or it's a high possibility atleast...we kinda saw that person being similar to Lucy (she is.), and that thoughtful face rly shows she knows a lot more about the situation then her (I think, for now) ignorant father-king. Arcadios beaten up without his plot-face looks a little anti-climatic and shallow, so I do hope there will be some schemming.

Nyaah, I don't think so. I think it's Hiro foreshadowing somekind of "Mirajane taking the bullet for Yukino" momment, which would make a lot more snese if Lisana was dead.

No no you missed what I was refering as a factor.



First things first :DX simply put is something that comes out of nowhere only to serve the hero(or generally some character, but mostly the hero) so as to get him out of some kind of seemingly desperate and impossible situation. A glorious example of DX is Hades' heart. Another DX would be in Black Lagoon that abandoned ship in the first chapters that allowed the party to make the jump(I'm refering to that cuz if I'm not mistaken your avatar is Rock, right?)



What I was refering as a factor was Minerva's abilities. We have seen her being able to warp stuff. So basically she simply used her powers to manipulate Sting into  doing her bidding (w/e that is for the momment). So it's not a DX, it's simply part of Minerva's character (and in a world full of magic I consider it highly realistic for mages to use their powers beyond battles in order to fulfill their purposes). Hence my reply.



PS: I don't consider it hating when people use their heads to come up with decent arguements.



Ah okay, I totally forgot what Minerva's abilities were. In my case, I thought she was still an unknown so from my point of view her saving Lecter would've been a DX since I thought they hadn't shown her powers. Regardless though, they did show her powers and I just forgot haha.



Not to mention there is still the possibility that she is lying to an emotionally vulnerable Sting.

Ugh....



Deus Ex Machina of Lector "saved"(I can see either dead or alive) and the introduction of another "unstoppable" group that in the past has been undefeated. Yeah until now >.> There has been Oracion Seis(twice if we're counting the anime), Grimoire, Sabertooth, and now these asshats. C'mon Hiro, you can be more creative can't you?



As for the characterization of Sting, I'm just a little irked of how he's a little pissy teen who overestimated his own skills and was stupidly cocky just to get owned and now with the power of"feelings" he's leveled up. Wish he was written better. There are ways to make unlikable characters not irritating. Minerva I'll hold back on what I think about her until we see more. Not uncommon of the harsh father and the even more harsh daughter trope to be used, but I haven't seen it recently so I'll let it slide : P



This arc is probably gonna have another structure similar to Tenro Island with Fairy Tail supposedly coming out with everyone intact just in time for the Dragon Festival to rape everyone in the face as we've been foreshadowed.
